Work Text:
Reki welcomed himself into the Hasegawa household. The air is still, and there is a quietness rarely found in his own home. While he loves the liveliness of his sisters, sometimes he could do with a break. Langa and Mrs Hasegawa must still be asleep then.
‘Good,’ Reki thought, ’That makes everything easier.’
He crept up the stairs to Langa’s room, effortlessly skipping the steps he knew would creak. Opening the door to his lover’s bedroom, he smiles as he is met with the familiar sight of Langa sound asleep. Being careful not to disturb or awaken him, Reki closed the door behind him and softly made his way to Langa’s bedside.
Watching the rise and fall of his beloved’s chest, he couldn’t help but admire the peaceful look of Langa’s sleeping face. The rising sun reflecting off his pale lashes, his hair which flew in every direction, the half smile on his face, as if he knew Reki was right there with him (always). It all made Reki’s heart melt.
‘What did I ever do to deserve you?’ Reki wondered. ‘The most beautiful, stubborn and bravest person I ever had the fortune to meet,‘
With his spare hand, he brushed some hair away from Langa’s face and watched as he began to stir awake. Langa blinked bemused and half-awake eyes at Reki as he slowly became aware of his surroundings.
‘The correct greeting is good morning,’ Langa yawned. ‘But what brings you here at—’ Langa checked his alarm clock. ‘6.27am on a weekend?’
Reki finally revealed the bouquet hidden behind him. A beautiful arrangement of violets and pink hydrangeas. He spent ages trying to find only the most perfect ones for Langa but seeing the amazed and stunned expression on Langa’s face made it all worth it.
‘Good morning it is then, Langa,’ Reki said, passing the bouquets to Langa before sitting beside him on the bed. ‘I hope these aren’t unwelcome?’
Langa, still stupefied by the gift, slowly turned to look at a smiling yet increasingly nervous Reki. ‘I… didn’t get you anything,’ Langa mumbled, instantly drawing a laugh out of Reki.
‘Silly Langa,’ Reki threw his arms around his boyfriend. ‘I gave you that because I wanted to, not beca I wanted anything in return.’
Langa blushed. ‘Oh… ok. But still, I’m gonna make it up to you I promise.’
Mrs Hasegawa woke to the sound of muffled laughter in the next room. When she entered her son’s room with a soft knock, she was greeted with the sight of two teenagers in a tangled mess on the bed, with a bouquet of purple flowers lying next to them.
