As soon as the vlive had been shut off, Hoseok collapsed against Jimin with a long sigh.
Jimin trilled and kissed his forehead. “Okay, love?”
Hobi hummed. “Yeah… I just miss the others. Wish they had been able to come.”
It had originally been their plan to all accompany him to the event, as they had known he’d need and want the support. Yet last minute schedules had sprung up for most of them. Which had led to tearful apologies and a cuddle and nesting night.
He had been really saddened by the fact, but Jimin’s unexpected arrival had helped a lot. It had been the boost he had needed to make it up that last bit of the metaphorical mountain that had lain before him.
Hoseok was so grateful that at least one of his mates had been there with him.
”Maybe I can help with that,” Jimin said with a smile. “Would you mind coming to my suite?”
He sat up a straighter and tried to hold back the wave of emotion that hit him. “D-Did you set up a video call?”
The smile widened as Jimin’s eyes twinkled with mischief. “Guess you’ll just have to go with me and find out.”
Hobi stumbled to his feet with an excited chirp. “C’mon c’mon! Wanna see them!!”
The two of them giggled the whole way to the elevator which took them up a level to Jimin’s room.
Hoseok was exhausted but it was that familiar sated kind of exhaustion that always filled him after a performance. The buzz of his adrenaline hadn’t quite petered out and it left him in a state of pleasant tiredness.
He’s knew the days of poor self care would lead to a pretty solid crash once he laid down, though.
He was determined to see his mates before that threshold was reached. Hobi needed to satiate his neglected instincts by seeing the others while he cuddled with Jimin.
Jimin was quick to insert his key card and push the door open. “Here’s slippers for you, lovely.”
Hoseok fumbled putting them on, everything in him ready to race forward and get settled for the video call. Once he’d gotten them on, he bolted forward down the short hallway into the larger sitting room.
He froze in the opening of the room, shock locking his feet into place.
”Surprise!!” His mates cheered.
There was homemade food on the table, there was a kettle of tea sitting on a warming plate, there was enough blankets and pillows to build a substantial nest… it was all so perfect and unexpected.
Hoseok sucked in a breath and broke into tears. He felt so overwhelmed that they were there in Chicago with him. “H-How are you-??” He couldn’t even finish his question.
He was immediately enveloped in several sets of arms, with coos and purrs echoing around him.
”Bold of you to think we’d let some measly schedules keep us from seeing your solo debut stage,” Yoongi teased. “Though it was tricky to get out of Korea without the press noticing.”
Taehyung grinned wide, “That’s where Jiminie came in! He made a very public airport departure so that we could sneak in the back way for the same plane.”
”They’re gonna be in an uproar when they realize that they missed us,” Jungkook snickered.
Seokjin scoffed, "Serves those nosy leeches right. I refuse to feel bad for duping them."
Their grumbling brought a smile to his face. Hoseok soaked his tears into Namjoon's shirt and relished in the warmth that emanated from his mates. The part of him that had been unsettled since he had left for the states finally calmed as their scents mingled together in the air. He was so, so glad that they'd been able to come and surprise him.
He sniffled and allowed Namjoon to brush away the tears still on his cheeks. "You're all so sneaky," he mumbled, "but I'm really glad you're here."
Jimin rubbed at his back. "There's nowhere we'd rather be than with our darling J-Hope." He snorted after a moment. "Or, I'm sorry... Jay."
Hobi whined and ducked his head into Namjoon's neck to hide his blush. "I thought it'd be easier for the new people..."
"Smart of you, sunblossom," Seokjin agreed, kissing his head.
He pulled away from their leader with a small kiss placed at his jawline. "So... did you guys watch I guess?" He dropped his gaze, fingers fiddling in a nervous habit. "Did you like it?"
"You were stellar, baby," Namjoon was quick to say. "I've never felt so proud in my life. You really knocked that stage out of the park."
"I think my outpouring of compliments spoke for me, but you were fantastic," Jimin added.
Taehyung purred. "Yesss, you were perfect. We were yelling so loud for you!"
Yoongi grabbed one of his hands and placed a kiss on the knuckles. "You were beautiful as we knew you'd be. I'm so proud of you for facing that and handling it with such poise."
"I took more photos than I know what to do with," Seokjin remarked. "I just wanted to document every moment."
"I had to change my pants twice because I made a mess," Jungkook chimed in.
Hoseok snapped his gaze to the youngest and gaped.
Jungkook flushed under his gaze, kicking his foot against the floor. "..What? Can you blame me? You were so fucking hot."
A burst of shy laughter bubbled up from his chest. Hobi loved them all so much. "I-I’m honored, Kookie love. It's flattering to know I affect you so much."
Yoongi snorted. "He was a total menace. Jinnie has the marks to prove it."
Seokjin rolled his eyes. "Someone had to placate the rambunctious baby. Might as well be me."
Hoseok flushed when he realized what the extra tang he had detected to Jin's scent meant. He giggled to himself. Bless his mates for being so endearing.
”Okay, okay,” Jimin cuts in. “We need to get this baby to bed after a clean up and some food. You’re gonna crash pretty hard soon, Hobi.”
He nodded. The mere mention of rest enough to make his eyes droop some.
“Does he have to wash up?” Jungkook asked in pour. “He’s got those good post concert pheromones clinging to him…” He pushed forward for a scenting, a purr spilling from his lips. “You’re so intoxicating hyungie…”
”Absolutely not. First of all, you’re on time out for the rest of the night,” Yoongi said with a pointed look. “And second of all, I already set up a bath for him as soon as they ended the vlive. I even put in one of my bath bombs, so there is no way it’s going unappreciated.”
The youngest grumbled but didn’t try to keep him captive.
Hoseok watched it all with an endeared smile. His heart felt so full. He loved them so much.
”Go ahead and clean up with Yoongichi,” Seokjin encouraged him. “Then Taebaby and Jiminie can help dry your hair.” He smirked when he caught the maknaes gaping at him. “Yes I noticed, you cretins. So I’m giving you a chance to take care of his long hair since you’ve been half salivating over it.”
”Makes you look super pretty,” Taehyung whispered to him.
Hobi ducked his head and smiled. Compliments from the six loves of his life always made his inner omega curl up in delight.
The next hour passed in a blur as he was guided into the bath with Yoongi. His mate had paid careful attention to him the whole time they soaked. He had emerged half boneless and feeling more relaxed than he had in weeks.
Then Jimin and Taehyung had pampered him by drying his hair and helping him through his moisturizing routine. The entire time they had showered him in compliments, until they were giggling over how red his ears had become.
Hoseok kept purring intermittently. He felt so comforted, so soft and happy.
After weeks of unending stress and a serious relapse into his own perfectionist ways, it was the reprieve he had much needed.
The bathroom trio moved him along to the sitting room where Seokjin had prepared him a plate of food with a steaming cup of tea to soothe his throat.
He all but gulped it down. His impulsive decision to let himself go and scream during his setlist had manifested itself in a sore throat. The tea felt like a blessing.
They all took turns feeding him as he allowed himself to be taken care of.
This is what he had needed.
By the time he had finished his plate, he was slumped back against the couch, fit snug between Taehyung and Namjoon.
His energy had finally left him. Hobi let out a sigh that ended in a whine. “Mmm sleepy,” he grumbled.
“Then let’s go to bed, Hoba, you’ve earned it,” Yoongi replied.
”Nesting time!!” Jimin cheered.
Time blurred again as the pack worked hard to build a comfortable nest around him. His purrs were echoed by each of his mates and made his heart swoop with happiness in his chest.
When they at last settled down beside him, Hobi was halfway asleep.
”You really killed it today, we’re so proud of you Hobi.”
He wasn’t sure who said it, but it also didn’t matter. The sentiment alone was enough to make him swoon.
”Love you,” he crooned.
Six replies, equally as heartfelt came back without hesitation.
He was so happy to have his mates in his life.
