"Casey, have you seen Mobius?"
Loki had stopped in front of his friend's desk.
Casey pondered for a few moments and shook his head, "Now that you mention it, I haven't seen him come back from the locker room with the rest of the team."
Loki didn't wait for Casey to finish speaking before he rushed to the locker room and opened the door, calling, "Mobius!"
"Be right there." a muffled voice answered.
"Where?" asked Loki, confused because he couldn't see him.
"In the back... on the floor."
"On the floor?!" exclaimed Loki, increasingly perplexed as he moved to the spot indicated.
He looked down and saw Mobius sitting on the ground between two benches holding his ankle. And beside him were Loki's two daggers.
"Mobius! What happened to you? Are those my daggers?"
Loki was surprised to see Mobius blush and look embarrassed.
"Mobius?" he called softly.
"I wanted to try your daggers, you see, to make elegant moves like you and as a result, I slipped and here I am."
Loki put his hand in front of his mouth to keep from smiling, but Mobius saw him anyway.
"You're laughing at me!"
Loki shook his head, "No, I swear Mobius. In fact, I was thinking that every time I think I can't love you more, you do something cute like this and prove me wrong."
Loki crouched down to his level and, gently stroking Mobius' cheek, he asked, "How can I help you, love?"
Mobius replied, "Could you lift me up? All the way home?"
Loki bowed his head and solemnly replied, "Of course my prince."
He put one arm under Mobius' back and another under his knees and lifted him up. Then he asked him, "Magic way or normal way?"
"For once, let me indulge myself. Let's take the magic way."
Loki concentrated and in no time they were in their living room. Loki carried Mobius to the couch and gently positioned him on it, then fetched a cushion, and placed it on the coffee table in front of Mobius. He knelt down, gently removed the shoe and sock from the injured foot and raised it on the cushion he had brought.
Then under Mobius' fond gaze, he ran to the bathroom, then from the bathroom to the kitchen and returned with a glass of water and a pill, which he handed to Mobius saying, "For the pain."
"Thanks, sweetheart."
Loki knelt in front of Mobius again and asked him softly, "Do you need anything else, my prince?"
Mobius set the empty glass down beside him, smiled and opened his arms, "Just you."
Loki grinned and came to snuggle up to Mobius who closed his arm around his shoulders, holding him close.
Mobius pressed a kiss to Loki's hair and said softly, "My hero."
Loki snuggled even more against Mobius and sighed with satisfaction.
Life sometimes had surprises in store for you.
Never would he have thought that stealing an infinity stone would earn him the hero status of saving the prince.
It was almost a fairy tale.
It even had its morale: "For all time. Always."
