Long long ago, before the lands we walk on were formed, there lived three beings high in the clouds. XD, the god of life, Kristin, the goddess of death and Herobrine, the god of passion.
These three lived amongst each other high up in the clouds watching over the people who came and left the collection of villages the three had sworn to protect from harm.
However, one of these beings grew to have disdain for it all. He grew resentful of Kristin with her tightly knit family and kind but threatening demeanour; he grew resentful of XD and his devoted following and commanding tone. He even started to resent his people, who seemed to leave him out of their legends, and prayers.
They began to paint him as some form of a background character.
This being was Herobrine, who, after leaving his child in the hands of the people who lived in these protected villages, set off on his path to show how he was more than simply a third being. How his powers quickly could outmatch both life and death. How could he strike fear when fear was necessary, creating a vicious monster known as the wither.
He gave this monster a vicious following of trolls making this group practically impossible to conquer fully. These monsters came in hordes tormenting the people of these villages until finally, death and light had enough.
These two beings had many differences; however, they agreed to put them aside when it came to their people, especially with families and descendants coming into play.
The two powerful beings combined their abilities driving away all of the monsters Herobrine had created and shunning them away from the villages the beings protected.
Legend says that Herobrine was later exiled from the clouds, staying around the outskirts of these villages now, watching and waiting for his monsters to return."
Puffy closed the book she had been reading from "of course, these are just stories, nothing to be afraid of."
The young kid around eight with bright green eyes she'd been reading to, Foolish, frowned at his hands "so there are no monsters?"
Puffy chuckled, putting the book away on the shelf "no, no monsters. "It is said that the monsters had extremely bright eyes and were eight feet tall." she dramatically gestured.
"I met a boy with bright eyes today! He was nice and gave me an apple from the shop area!" Foolish giggled, his eyes lighting up.
"Yeah? Well, I'm glad you met a friend. Did you get his name?"
Foolish frowned "no, I didn't…he lives with the nice market lady and has cool eyes! he doesn't wear anything on them either."
She nodded, throwing the blanket over him "well, I hope you see him soon! He sounds like a lovely kid." she smiled "sleep well, Foolish sweet dreams."
"Sweet dreams." Foolish mumbled thirdly.
Puffy turned the lights off and closed the door behind her, sighing before heading to the living room
Telling him, it was a story would have to do for now. There was a time and place for truth, and now was not that time.

Eret sat at the living room table with flowers in vases and pictures littered across every surface. It was relatively peaceful, the crackling of a fireplace in the background with evening birds and bugs singing in the background. The peace was nice; however, with a kid around, questions tend to arise at any time. He was drawing a black rose in a colouring book Olive the shopkeeper, and his parent attempted to crochet.
"Hey Olive?"
"Hmm?
"Who is hero-brine?" Eret asked without looking up from his colouring
Olive looked up from her crocheting, frowning slightly "oh uh- he is someone from an ancient legend of the towns around here, why do you ask?"
Eret shrugged, continuing his colouring "some of the kids said my eyes looked like that hero brines eyes, so I was curious." They looked up. Finally, a look of curiosity instead of stress or concern as Olive would have thought, "why are my eyes so bright anyways? No one else has super bright eyes."
Olives look softened; they set their yarn and crochet hook to the side, frowning a little. "If I'm honest with you… I don't know. If the legend were to be real… maybe I can tell you the story another time," Olive said gently, "Either way, your eyes are unique and are what makes you cooler than everyone else; it's a good thing. I promise"
He seemed to consider that for a moment before deciding he was satisfied with being cooler than people and going back to colouring "that's cool! It can be a new bedtime story then." Olive sighed, chuckling as she picked up her crocheting stuff again "yeah, I'll talk to my friend about getting the book, okay?
Eret nodded "okay!" and then he was back to colouring
Olive would have to ask Puffy about the book sooner than later; they were always curious about the gods. Anyways this would be a perfect time to learn about them. They could teach themselves and Eret about this legend they'd heard so much about even as a kid. Some stories about gods and a goddess and monsters and withers. She wasn't entirely sure about all the details, but she was already thinking of how she'd ask about it all to Puffy tomorrow.
