Work Text:

It was a normal Friday afternoon for Teruki Hanazawa. He had just come home from school an hour ago and is both physically and mentally drained. That doesn't change the fact that he has homework due tomorrow at 12 am.

Teru decides to take a break for a bit, getting up to head to his kitchen to grab a snack. He grabs a box of pocky and heads back to his spot.

Just as he was about to continue his work, he hears a knock on his window. Already knowing who it is, he ignores it until the knocking gets more frequent and increases in sound. The annoyed Esper points his finger at the window behind him and opens it in one slick motion.

"What the hell, man!" Teru knows that voice all too well. "I was waiting out there for at least 15 minutes!"

"It's only been 5."

"Same thing!" The other Esper flies in and takes a seat on Teruki's bed.

"What are you even doing here, Shou." Teru asks, too invested in his work to face him.

"I figured you were lonely and could use some company." Shou claims, giving him a toothy grin.

Teru turns to face him

"Have you ever thought it's you that's lonely? You are the one coming almost everyday uninvited after all."

The now embarrassed shou turns to face the floor. Teru takes that as a yes and continues his homework.

"I'm only teasing. You can stay as along as you don't make a mess."

Completely ignoring that last part, the ginger Esper darts his eyes around the main room of the apartment. There's a bunch of sticky notes around his study area. Along with a bunch of notebooks stacked under his desk.

It's all just a bunch of math equations and words be can't read from his distance. Despite that area, the rest was relatively clean. It's almost as if he was expecting company. It was so clean that clean was an understatement.

Shou decides to roam around when a glimmer of light catches his eye. It appears to be a safety pin, bigger than it's usual size.

"Why do you just have a giant safety pin lying around? What use even is it, it's much too big."

"I don't even know to be honest." Teru replies "It just kinda appeared out of thin air."

Weird. But Shou shrugs it off and looks for other weird things he might have. His eyes rest on the nightstand Teru has next to his bed. Having no concern for privacy, Shou looks through the drawers.

They're all empty, except for the last one which contains a mysterious bag. After closer inspection, he finds it's full of jewelry. Shou is surprised. After all, he thought the only piece of jewelry teru owned were those black earrings he wore all the time.

"Really? A whole bag of jewelry? I've never seen you wear any of these!" Shou says, still staring at the bag.

"I never never intended to wear them. I just bought them cause they looked nice."

Shou was starting to notice a pattern.

While waiting for a certain blonde haired Esper to finish his work, Shou found a broken furby, elastics in the strangest of places (such as under a pile of board games), a finished bottle of hand cream, etc.

Feeling a sense of accomplishment, Shou plops down on Teruki's bed

"Why do you have so many?" Shou asks. Teru looks at him from the corner of his eye, waiting for him to finish. "So many random things I mean. And it's not just random things, it's also normal things in random places."

Teru just looks back at his work and shrugs. Shou looks at him, but looks back at the ceiling after getting no sign of a reply.

Boy does he have a story to tell Ritsu.

Notes:

The question isn't why he has these things, but why you don't. This was very enjoyable for me to make, although I hated the ending. I wrote this at 2 am I'm glad it came out so good. Hole you enjoyed
