Work Text:
“Stay”
“No you know I can’t, not even if I want to stay in this moment forever”
He’s holding her hand between both of his. Her other hand is against his cheek. Both of them are crying. Their heads leaning against each other. She knows she doesn't have a choice
“For what it's worth I wouldn't leave you if I wasn’t moving 8000 kilometers away.”
He whispers, anything louder would break him
“Then don’t.”
“We’re 16, too young. I can’t hold you down.”
“You won’t. We’ll fly towards each other.”
She nods, but only barely. She flings her hands around him as he returns the hug. They both hide their faces on the other’s shoulders. There was no guarantee for what was to come. They would either make it through strangers or break themselves apart with wounds that would take too long to heal. The only thing this moment gave them was hope, security, and peace. For now, that was enough. They’d figure this out. Not for the world, not because of obligations, but because this meant something.
