“Like I said,” said Vegas and he crossed his arms on top of his chest because he wasn’t too happy about leaving Venice with Tankhun. “We could’ve asked one of ours to look after Venice while we’re out,” said Vegas and he pressed his lips because he knew that Venice wasn’t a fan of Tankhun. Much like Vegas himself - like father, like son.
Pete rolled his eyes and then he smiled at Venice, who looked more than content with himself in Pete’s arms.
“Tankhun asked if he could spend some time with Venice,” said Pete. “And I said yes,” he said and Vegas pressed his lips together and he pursed his lips. “He’s still heartbroken that Venice doesn’t like him, so this would be the perfect chance for the two of them to get closer,” said Pete happily and Vegas was annoyed that he couldn’t even get annoyed at Pete.
Not when he wore that smile.
“Maybe Venice dislikes him for a reason,” said Vegas and Pete snorted.
“He just doesn’t know him well enough,” said Pete and he narrowed his eyes. “And the stories you keep telling him don’t help either,” deadpanned Pete. Vegas narrowed his eyes - Pete knew? “Yes, I know,” said Pete, reading his mind and Vegas groaned. “He’s a bit weird, but he’s good, ” said Pete and Vegas said something under his breath.
Pete couldn’t make out what it was, but perhaps it was for the best. Instead, he glanced at Venice, who was now looking around and he giggled when he saw Porsche and Kinn coming closer to the two of them from a distance.
The main and the minor family were going to be working together. Pete and Porsche were going undercover, while Kinn and Vegas were going to be joining the auction. All four of them were going to be busy, so someone needed to be looking after Venice. And that was why they were here; leaving Venice with uncle Tankhun was going to be just fine. Pete was sure of it.
Pete just wanted for all of them to get along and he knew that Venice was going to have a change of heart when he spent more time with the other one.
“Ah, you two are already here,” said Porsche and waved to baby Venice when he saw that the boy was waving to him already. It warmed up his heart every time he saw the little one and he sighed happily, looking over at Kinn, who narrowed his eyes and he placed his arms on top of his sides and he nodded.
“Mn,” said Pete and looked at Vegas. “He wanted to be here early enough so that he can have a talk with Tankhun,” said Pete and Vegas gritted his teeth because he just knew that Pete was poking fun at him and he rolled his eyes.
Kinn’s eyes were laughing at Vegas, but as soon as the other one glared at him, he glanced down and suppressed back a laughter. Vegas was an overprotective parent when it came to Venice and honestly it was hilarious to Kinn.
“And how is the little guy?” asked Kinn and smiled down at Venice, who quickly hid himself into Pete’s chest, but then he peeked at Kinn again and giggled. Venice was shy around Kinn, but he seemed to like him. “Growing up fast, I see,” said Kinn and then he glanced at Vegas. “He looks more and more like you,” mused Kinn. “Shame,” joked Kinn and since Vegas knew it was a joke, he only flipped Kinn off and Pete glared at him.
“Where’s Khun?’’ demanded Vegas and Pete laughed softly, shaking his head when Vegas was finally taken to Tankhun so that he could have that… “talk”.
“If you make him wear something stupid, I’ll kill you,” growled Vegas, glaring at Tankhun, who rolled his eyes and crossed his legs.
Tankhun was looking forward to being the babysitter. Vegas was a little bit calmer now that he understood that the bodyguards would be there as well - Arm and Pol were going to be there with Tankhun and at least Vegas hoped that they were more capable than his cousin.
Tankhun pouted because he already had a few outfits prepared for Venice and he puffed his cheeks.
“Fine,” was what Tankhun said in the end.
“And for the love of all that’s holy,” said Vegas. “Don’t make him watch your stupid series,” carried on Vegas.
“Ugh, you really are a monster,” grumbled Tankhun and he huffed. He looked past Vegas and he glanced at Pete, the pout still present on his lips. “How can you live with him? He’s no fun at all,” he grumbled, which made Pete laugh. “Well, you can always come back home here,” said Tankhun happily. “At least it was fun here.”
“Sure,” said Pete and Vegas clenched his jaw.
“Pete, on whose side are you?” asked Vegas.
“Yours, of course.”
“It’s kinda a shame we have to go to the auction,” mused Porsche as he was leaning against the wall, standing next to Kinn, who was now laughing along. This was much more interesting, he had to agree and he crossed his arms on top of his chest.
“This is way more fun, I agree,” said Kinn and Vegas looked over his shoulder.
“You two - quiet,” grumbled Vegas.
“Fine, fine,” sighed Kinn and glanced at Porsche, giving him a little wink. Porsche made a face and both of them started laughing. Vegas rolled his eyes - he hated how he was the only serious one in the room.
Venice, who was still in Pete’s arms, wasn’t so sure about the whole situation. He was clutching onto Pete’s clothes and his eyes kept averting down. He didn’t want to look at Tankhun, he was way too nervous and a little smile tugged at Pete’s lips.
“You will spend the day with uncle Khun,” said Pete. He didn’t know if Venice understood, but he could’ve sworn that he did. Venice tensed up and he whined. “You’ve brought so many toys with you,” he said and pointed to the backpack in the corner. “You will have so much fun here,” he said and glanced towards Arm and Pol, who also nodded.
“We’ll make sure that everything will be under control, Mr. Vegas,” said Arm and Vegas narrowed his eyes.
Venice glanced at the man and then he looked back at Pete, squeezing himself tighter against Pete.
“Papa, papa-”
Pete chuckled.
“It’ll be fine, you will have so much fun,” promised Pete and Venice looked at Vegas, who sent him an apologetic look, which made Pete laugh again.
Venice wasn’t impressed when he was left alone with Tankhun. Vegas and Pete were out with Kinn and Porsche, which left little Venice alone with his uncle. And his two bodyguards. It’s been about fifteen minutes, but Venice didn’t dare to move away from the couch. He was sitting there, completely frozen, while Tankhun was rummaging through the things that he had in the bag that he brought to the room.
“Now that the monster is finally gone,” said Tankhun and happily pulled out the two outfits that he had prepared for Venice. He didn’t care about the promise he made to Vegas; after all, Tankhun was the older one, so he could do as he pleased. “Which one do you wanna wear?” he asked and pulled out two very… loud looking outfits for Venice to wear and he happily smiled.
Venice looked terrified of the clothes and he whined, stood up and ran over to Pol, hiding behind him and he was shaking his head. The two bodyguards were laughing and Tankhun pouted, but he didn’t give up so easily.
“Trust uncle Tankhun, you will look on fleek when you’re with me,” said Tankhun and signed Pol to move away.
Once Venice’s hiding spot was compromised, the boy froze up again and Tankhun showed him the two outfits again and Venice started slowly backing away, his eyes on the clothes and his eyes widened when Tankhun stepped closer.
“Which one do you like better?”
“No, no, no, no,” was the boy saying.
“This one is a no?” asked Tankhun and pointed to the outfit in his left hand. Then he brought the one on his left closer to Venice and grinned. “This one then?”
“Scary!” said Venice and pointed to Tankhun, breaking his heart in the process and he ended up running away, hiding behind the couch.
Tankhun was crushed. He looked after the boy and wailed; he felt like crying. He had the whole day planned out, but it wasn’t working in his favour. The boy was too stubborn. Still, Tankhun decided to put the blame on Vegas.
Pol nudged Arm to step over to their boss and he nodded.
“If I may,” suggested Arm and Tankhun glared at him.
“What?”
“How about we try breaking the ice by playing a game?” asked Arm and Tankhun looked at Venice, who was now peeking from behind the couch and he slowly nodded, sighing along. Crushed, he tucked those two outfits away and he plopped down onto the couch, scowling at the boy.
“I didn’t mean anything bad,” grumbled Tankhun, now feeling like a bad guy and Pol quickly shook his head.
“Of course not, but he’s still too young to understand that,” said Pol. Tankhun perked up and then he looked at Venice.
“When you’re older, I’ll teach you all about fashion,” said Tankhun and Pol sighed, looking at Arm, who nodded. Tankhun was back in a good mood, which was good. “So what kind of a game do you wanna play?” he asked and looked up at his bodyguards.
Pol shrugged, Arm shrugging as well.
“You two are no help,” said Tankhun.
But, then he remembered the plush toy that he made his bodyguards buy for Venice and he happily smiled. Venice was staring as Tankhun pulled something out of that evil bag and he flinched, but then his eyes widened when he saw that Tankhun was holding a pink plush bunny in his hands. Tankhun happily smiled and looked at Venice, who now seemed interested in the toy.
“Look, cute bunny,” said Tankhun happily and Venice made a hesitant step towards Tankhun, who smiled at him again.
Venice pointed at the bunny and started whining. He wanted the bunny, but he was too scared to step closer. Tankhun sighed, but then he placed the bunny onto the couch and went to sit on the other side of the couch and he smiled when he saw Venice slowly stepping closer, taking the bunny away from him and running to the side.
Venice didn’t run too far and then he looked over to the backpack, where he had his own toys and he looked at Tankhun. Venice silently stepped closer to Tankhun and then pointed to the backpack and waited. Tankhun silently reached for the backpack and opened it up, placing it back onto the couch and he waited.
One step, second step, third step… and Venice was now over by his side, nervously looking at him. Tankhun smiled and he chuckled.
That was… improvement.
Tankhun blinked, feeling bored. Venice’s eyes were glued on the TV screen and he wouldn’t look away. It’s been hours since they started watching the TV and what Tankhun at first thought would be fun, turned out to be so freaking boring. Watching the cartoons was fine, but watching cartoons for two hours straight was boring.
Still, Venice seemed to be into it and he didn’t look away from the TV at all.
Tankhun looked over to Arm and Pol, who seemed unphased - afterall, they were already used to spending hours of their life staring at the TV. Tankhun huffed and then he glanced at Venice, who was happily clapping and laughing, pointing at the TV. Tankhun squinted his eyes and then he slowly reached for the remote control.
They needed to do something else or Tankhun was going to-
That was why Tankhun turned off the TV and Venice let out a startled gasp, covering his mouth with his little hands and he started babbling in gibberish, pointing to the TV and he glanced at Arm, who looked at Tankhun, who was now sulking. Venice looked at his uncle and then he saw that he was holding the remote control in his hands.
Venice pointed at the TV and whined.
“No, that was enough, let’s do something else,” said Tankhun.
Pol laughed and Arm crossed his arms. Perhaps their boss finally got the taste of his own medicine.
But, Venice was having none of it.
Pointing to the TV, Venice continued whining and tears welled up in his eyes as he continued to point at the TV. Tankhun whined and he rolled his eyes.
“No, let’s-”
And Venice burst into tears. In panic, Tankhun quickly turned on the TV and Venice hiccuped, looking at the TV, immediately cheering up when he saw the cartoon characters running across the screen. Still annoyed, Tankhun flipped the TV channel and Venice turned to him again.
“No! No! No!”
“My series will be on soon and-”
Venice crawled closer to him and took the remote from him. He didn’t really know how to switch the channels, but he looked over to Pol and handed him the remote control - he was going to know what to do. Pol did as the boy wanted and he switched the channels again, turning back to the cartoons and he laughed when he saw the look on Tankhun’s face.
“Traitor!”
Tankhun huffed and glanced at the remote control, which was now sitting next to Venice and out of sheer curiosity and playfulness, he tried reaching for it again. He knew that he was stuck watching those cartoons, so he tried to entertain himself. Tankhun reached for the remote control, but as soon as he even placed his hand on top of it, Venice’s hand was on top of him and he gave him a serious look.
A mini Vegas, just there!
“No,” said Venice slowly and Tankhun shuddered.
“You’re the scary one!”
Venice seemed pleased with that as he clapped and giggled.
“You had one fucking job, Porsche,” grumbled Vegas and Porsche rolled his eyes.
“I think it went well,” said Porsche.
“Oh, for your standards, maybe,” grumbled Vegas.
They managed to get the information they needed, barely. No thanks to Porsche, of course. If it wasn’t for Pete, all of that would be for nothing. Pete glanced at Vegas and gently rubbed his back. Pete was tired and wasn’t in the mood to be fighting, but Vegas had a point.
Kinn huffed and clicked with his tongue.
“As long as we did our job, then… it’s fine,” said Kinn and Vegas was tempted to say something back to that, but then he heard Venice’s loud giggles and screams coming from down the hallway and he smiled. Just like that, all of the bad things have been forgotten and Pete grinned.
“Oh, seems like he’s having fun,” said Pete. “See, what did I tell you?”
Vegas was going to be the judge of that and he slowly walked past the three of them and Pete sighed, biting back a chuckle.
“He’s always so overprotective?” asked Kinn.
“Mn.”
Pete watched Vegas with a smile on his face stepping into the room and he slowly walked behind him as well. Vegas’ eyes scanned the room and the first thing that he found was Tankhun, passed out and sprawled on the couch. His complexion was pale and he looked dead tired. Vegas arched his brow and then he smiled when he saw Venice chasing the bodyguards around the room.
Venice hopped over to Tankhun and smacked him across the face a few times.
“Go, go, go!” said the boy happily and Tankhun whined.
“Pete, where are you?! Save me, I’m tired, I can’t do this anymore,” whined Tankhun. “Being a babysitter is exhausting.”
Vegas snickered and he cocked his head to the side. Ah, so Venice was the reason for Tankhun’s current state. Vegas had never felt so proud before and as he chuckled again, Venice noticed him and he happily perked up.
“Dada, dada, dada!” cried out the boy and ran towards him.
Tankhun slowly sat up as Venice ran towards Vegas, who picked him up and Vegas happily laughed, feeling even happier now that he saw that it was Venice that gave Tankhun a hard time. He was just… so, so proud of that!
“Papa!” said the boy happily when he saw Pete at the door as well.
Both of them were there, finally!
“Hi,” said Pete and pressed a kiss on top of Venice’s head and he smiled. “Did you have fun?” he asked and his eyes widened when he saw Tankhun.
“Fun, yes, it was, yes,” said Tankhun. “But how does he have so much energy?” he asked in sheer horror. After the TV session, the boy wanted to play tag and that went on for another hour!
“Aw, you gave Khun a hard time?” asked Vegas happily. “Good boy, you’re-”
“Vegas,” scolded him Pete and Vegas turned to him.
“What?” asked Vegas innocently and Kinn rolled his eyes as he watched his cousin.
“Did you two get closer?” asked Pete and Tankhun slowly nodded.
“Yes,” said the other one with a little smile. “But now I need to rest. For an entire month,” said Tankhun and Pete laughed softly and he stepped closer to Venice, who was now happily playing with the buttons on Vegas’ shirt and Pete glanced at Vegas, who still looked very pleased with himself.
But, this was good - Pete was glad that Venice finally opened up to Tankhun, who was again lying on the couch and he sighed happily. With a little kiss upon Vegas’ temple, Pete decided that it was perhaps for the best to leave Tankhun to rest for a little while and Venice was happily waving to his uncle as he was carried out of the room.
Perhaps Uncle Tankhun wasn’t as scary as Vegas claimed!
