Chapter Text
Aubrey fumbled with the camera, "Ugh," She grumbled, "how does he get this to work it's ancient..."
"It cant be that bad," Kel said in a hushed voice, minding a sleeping friend on his back.
"Says the only one here that's used the damn thing before." Aubrey looked through the viewfinder, still blurry, "Grrhh focus!" She shook the camera a little, "You never even took a clear picture out of it before."
"Basil said it added character," Kel smiled.
"You know he was just trying to make it sound better."
-Snap!-
A photo slipped out of the camera with a short whirr, Aubrey snapped it up with her hand it and fanned it. "Oh... it worked."
"Ooh-ooh! Lemme see!" Kel steered himself closer, Aubrey instinctively pulled away, but sighed as she held the picture out for him.
"...I thought you said it worked." Kel tilted his head, smile still on his face.
Though the photo was blurred, Basil's face was clear enough over Kel’s shoulder, a fuzzy smile visible from him too.
"Kel, rude!" Aubrey definitely said a bit too loud.
"Mmmph, do you two ever stop bickering?" Basil spoke with his eyes still closed, a forwardness that caused both the other kids to have to stifle a laugh as they walked.
Kel looked at Aubrey, "Listen uh... It's your first photo, no matter what Basil's gonna love it!" Aubrey felt her face warm, "... If you really think so."
