Blaise found it hard to keep the secret, especially seeing as every female he touched could have been the one. The one that brought his world into being. The anticipation that came over his face every new female had to be confusing to the rest of the student population.
And they had to wonder why he disappeared for a week in the middle of the school term.
He was an Ace as well as a Wizard. An Ace as they called themselves were a race of people that were magic in their own right— when they met their soulmate a bond would begin from the first touch. They would both have flashes of significant moments of their future together and they would be within each other’s blood, soul and heart. It was a magical thing according to all the bonded Ace’s but years ago the bonds stopped happening.
Everyone stopped meeting their Significants and their world changed. They stopped dating so that if the bonds came back they wouldn’t break someone’s heart when they found their soulmate. Some people broke the rule, it was bound to happen.
But then word spread from America that Caleb Jacobson had found his Significant. In a human of all people.
Then as two years went by, more and more Aces were finding their Significant. There was hope building again and now Blaise had that hope crashing through his system everytime he would touch someone.
He couldn’t wait to find his Significant and get his gift that had been promised to him when he was a young boy.
Packing his bags, he fielded questions from his roommates and made up excuse after excuse.
If he found his Significant— he knew he would have to leave Hogwarts behind. There was no other option. Unless by chance she was another student. Then he would be able to stay and finish his education.
Dumbledore knew the risks. His mother had explained everything when Blaise was accepted to Hogwarts. There was no way around it. He had to be told just incase the miracle happened within Hogwarts.
There would be measures put in place to help Blaise but he didn’t think she was here. He had a feeling he was going to meet her at the Reunification. That’s the only reason he was going this year— he was going to beg off it as he had started to grow less hopeful of finding her. But then something deep within him was pushing him to go so he agreed to go along with his mother and father.
Draco was the pushiest of the lot besides Pansy but Blaise just kept saying it was a family emergency. He didn’t know when he would be back.
Leaving the dorm and his friends behind, he made his way through the school for what could be the last time and memories of his days there flittered through his mind.
He would miss it. But if he found her his magical education didn’t matter as much.
Dumbledore and McGonagall agreed he could finish his study by distance if the best possible outcome did occur. Which made it easier to leave. He was only six months off finishing.
Coming to the Griffin that guarded the Headmaster’s office; he stated the password and made his way up the staircase.
Dumbledore was waiting for him and opened the Floo without preamble.
“Good Luck, Mr Zabini. I hope you find what you wish,” he said.
“Thank you sir,” Blaise said before walking into the fire.
Coming out on the other side in the Leaky Cauldron he was greeted by his parents.
They left the pub into Muggle London and made their way around the corner to the private lift.
Entering the palace felt different this time.
Blaise and his clan walked into the main hall and were greeted by everyone. The new council had made a lot of progress with making it a real reunion instead of parading themselves as the royals of the Aces.
He couldn’t wait to see all his friends and see how they were going— that was also a hard part of being the only Ace in the Wizarding World. He couldn’t keep in as much contact with his friends as he would like to.
As he was moving through the crowd, he bumped someone’s elbow and felt the fire racing through his veins that had been described to him so many times.
He couldn’t control the visions coming to him then.
The first one was of her in her red wedding dress dancing in circles around him. They were surrounded by both their families and everyone was laughing.
Before he could see her face— he was pulled into another Vision of her and him on a beach somewhere, him holding her in front of him while she slept.
The third one they were a bit older and there were three children with identical faces in front of them. They had just been born and both families surrounded them cooing over how cute the triplets were.
The fourth vision was of a dinner she had cooked him for their anniversary.
Then he was pulled into his fifth and final vision of them when they were much older sitting on the same beach as before and family surrounding him.
As Blaise came back to himself and everything went cold within his veins again— he spun around to see the most gorgeous creature he had laid eyes on.
She had long chestnut brown hair that hung in curls around her face. She was wearing a yellow sundress with matching shoes. Her eyes were chocolate brown and had little gold flecks in them. Her face was heart shaped and she had the cutest button nose he had ever had the pleasure of seeing.
“It’s you, you’re my Significant,” Blaise breathed as he moved closer to her, “Hilary, right?”
He remembered playing with her when they were kids and always getting jealous of her when others paid too close attention. That should have tipped him off even back then.
“Blaise,” she sighed as her eyes became to clear, “It’s really you.”
“What’s happening?” His father boomed as he came back to Blaise and Hilary and then smiled as he realised what had happened, “My dear boy! You’ve found her.”
Blaise’s and Hilary’s mothers quickly moved the two out of the room and their families followed closely behind.
They all wanted to be apart of this perfect moment.
All Blaise wanted to do though was get Hilary alone and get to know her more. He wanted to know everything from her favourite colour to her favourite food. He couldn’t wait to be able to hear her in his head as he could already feel her heart beside his.
It was a magical feeling having someone else’s heart beat within your chest.
Hilary couldn’t stop smiling at Blaise as their families were congratulating them.
He could tell she wanted to be alone as well.
“Okay guys, leave us be for a bit. We have the rest of our lives for you to fawn over us. I want to get to know my Significant without all you vultures around,” Blaise said, only half joking about the vulture part.
He finally understood what all the other men that found their Significants felt like and felt bad for going out of his way to make sure they had no alone time in that week.
