Chapter Text
She had come of her own volition. Pardofelis was weak in combat, it wasn’t necessary for her to have come with the rest. She could have easily stayed back, with Su and Aponia and Dr. MEI.
But she hadn’t. She still came to the moon with the other remaining flame chasers, to face their final foe. She knew the moment her foot hit the cold crunching dust that covered the moon’s surface that this was the place, this is where she would perish.
Death wasn’t anything new to Pardo. She had come to the brink many times during her life, most obvious being her close encounter with the 11th Herrscher.
But she didn’t want to be a coward again. She hadn’t been able to help during the tragedy of binding, when her fellow soldiers were dying out in the battle field, she was stuck on an operating table, unable to do anything, unable to help. She wouldn’t let that happen, not again. Even if the only help she could provide was simply diverting the Herrscher’s attention.
And that’s precisely what she did. The final Herrscher had arrived and the battle was underway. It was Pardo who rushed out first, to catch their foes gaze, to divert her attention so the others could get some damage in.
Barely a minute had passed and despite all their best efforts, the Herrscher didn’t even have a scratch on her. Felis launched one of her chakrams towards the floating girl, trying distract her so Kevin or Kalpas could get a good hit in.
The Herrscher didn’t even react as she swatted the projectile away. Her eyes had finally turned towards Pardo. Now was their chance. She began running, away from the others, all the while throwing small ice shards at their opponent.
Tension built inside her as the 14th turned fully to face her. Her face was still blank, dead eyes staring towards Felis’ form. In mere seconds, massive amounts of Honkai energy gathered in her hand. She sliced the air infront of her, creating a massive tear in space that launched itself towards her. Pardo could do nothing but run. The slice was getting closer and closer, no chance of outrunning it.
This was it…
This was the end of Pardofelis
Horror flashed on the faces of the other warriors. Blood stained the white soil as a single silver coin landed among it, perfectly cut in half.
