Chapter Text
Camille’s eyes shine bright,
Her fluffy creations laid to rest,
Set to cool next to mine.
You had met on your first day of kindergarten, the tears trailing down your face forcefully rubbed away to hide your embarrassment. Camille had always been one for smiles. They seemed to grow wider whenever you met her eyes. When you were younger, those very first years, you never really could maintain eye contact with people. Too shy, no - too scared. But with Cami, it was different. Everything was different. When she asked you to marry her, two years later, in return for a promise to stop tugging your pretty braids, you giggled and said yes, choosing for the first time in your very short life to consciously do something impulsive, naughty and fun. She couldn’t catch you after you took off, too startled from the hug and the sudden pain at her scalp, your five year old legs running scurrying off to the far side of the playground.
And so it was settled, you and Camille would be married. The first ceremony was beautiful, just the two of you and your teddy bears and dollies, standing in her treehouse. The second ceremony had been just as beautiful, with the minister of justice and two randos to witness your signatures on the forms. You smiled looking at her dainty handwriting. Scribbling your own right next to it was definitely a smidge bittersweet, but the weight of the golden chain around your neck certainly lightened the load of what this would mean for the two of you.
