There were multiple kingdoms and empires, a king ruled every kingdom or empire.
The Nekoma empire is ruled by king Nekomata, since the king did not have any children, he is training prince Kuroo to take over the empire for him.
Almost everyone in the empire is a cat hybrid/Neko, and some from the empire are humans.
Fukunaga is someone from the empire of Nekoma, they are part of the royal guard.
They are the best archer of the empire and also one of the best spies.
One day Fukunaga was just casually taking a stroll in the forest of Fukurodani.
The owl kingdom was there high in the trees.
Nekoma and Fukurodani were very close allies and they allowed the other to go into their territory as long as they don't make a fuss.
Fukunaga did not realize they left Fukurodani's forest and were in someone else's territory.
"Hey there little kitten"
Fukunaga looked around to see who was speaking but they saw nothing.
"Don't be scared, we won't hurt you"
Two kitsunes stepped out of the shadows and stood in front of Fukunaga.
"Who are you kitty cat?"
Fukunaga let out a soft growl
"Okay, maybe we should introduce ourselves first"
"I'm Miya Atsumu"
"Miya Osamu, we both are guards of the Inarizaki kingdom"
Fukunaga bowed their head.
"Sorry, I didn't realize I was so far away from the Fukurodani forest"
"No worries, would you mind sharing your name?"
"Fukunaga Shohei"
They stood upright again and looked at the twins closely, they were really similar.
The only difference was their eye color, hair color, and the tips of their ears.
Osamu had gray-blue eyes, silver hair and the tips of his ears were silver.
Atsumu had hazel eyes, blonde hair, and the tips of his ears were more gold.
Osamu caught their attention, he was calm and kind, something Fukunaga wasn't really used to in their guard assembly.
"Well, we have to bring you to the palace, it's our guard policy. But don't worry, we won't hurt you."
Fukunaga nodded and walked with them towards the palace.
"Did you two catch the intruder?"
Someone appeared from out of the trees.
"We did, it's someone from Nekoma"
"Really, that's quite a strong kingdom, I'm surprised neither of you got attacked"
"Uhh"
"He got here"
Fukunaga growled softly.
"I'm not a he"
"Sorry, what do we use for you then?"
"They/them"
"Oh, sorry, well they got here by accident is what they say"
"Really?"
Atsumu nodded.
The third kitsune looked at Fukunaga.
"Interesting, how did you do that Neko?"
Fukunaga shrugged.
"I was walking for fun and I lost track of my time and place and now I'm here"
They got to the castle and they got let inside.
"Hello prince Kita"
All four people bowed for the prince.
"Hello Osamu, Atsumu, Suna, and?"
"Fukunaga Shohei"
Kita walked towards the four.
"Pleasure to meet you, what are you doing here?"
"I accidentally walked into your kingdom, my apologies"
"Don’t worry, stuff like that happens. Where are you from Fukunaga?"
"The Nekoma empire"
Kita looked surprised.
"That’s quite a walk, how long did it take you?"
"Maybe four hours?"
All four foxes looked surprised.
"FOUR HOURS, WERE YOU SPRINTING OR SOMETHING!?"
Atsumu yelled without thinking and got elbowed in the side by Osamu.
"No, I was walking at a normal pace"
"Well, I think it's a great idea to bring Nekoma back one of their cats. Osamu, Suna, would you two mind doing that?"
"We will do that, your majesty"
"Okay, but maybe tomorrow, it’s getting dark and I don’t want any of you to get lost"
"Lost?"
Fukunaga looked confused at the others.
"Our forest changes at night and there are creatures lurking, no one who went into the forest at night found their way back"
"Oh"
"Well, you’re free to stay here this night. However, you have to be with at least one guard at all times, we may not have a bad relationship with the Nekoma empire but we also aren’t really allies"
Fukunaga bowed.
"Thank you for letting me stay, and it's no problem that I have to stay with a guard. I understand"
Kita smiled.
"I'm glad you do"
"Follow us please"
Fukunaga followed Osamu towards a room somewhere in the castle.
"Would you mind staying with me and Sunarin?"
"I don’t mind"
Osamu smiled.
"I’m glad"
Suna grabbed a futon to place next to his bed.
Osamu got a few blankets and a pillow.
Kita walked into the room after the two made Fukunaga’s futon.
"I'm sorry to barge in but I have a few questions if you don’t mind"
"I don’t mind, ask away"
Kita and Fukunaga were sitting on the futon, Kita ready with pen and paper.
"How similar are you to actual cats?"
Fukunaga thought for a second about how to word it the best.
"When we shapeshift into a cat, we have all abilities every cat has. When we are in this half-human form, we physically have the ears and the ability to make a purring sound, we are a bit more flexible than actual humans and we act a bit more cat-like"
Kita wrote it all down, really curious about it all.
"Would you mind showing me how flexible you are?"
Fukunaga stood up and made a bridge of their body.
"Oooh"
Kita watched curiously.
Fukunaga sat back down.
"How much do you know about your cat instincts in this human body?"
"Not a lot"
Fukunaga and Kita talked about the cat folk more.
"It is almost midnight Kita-sama, it might be a good idea to sleep"
"Oh yes, thank you, Osamu. Goodnight you three"
Kita left the room.
"Goodnight Sunarin, goodnight Fukunaga"
"Goodnight Samu"
"Goodnight Osamu-san, goodnight Suna-san"
"Goodnight Fukunaga"
All of them went to sleep.
Suna woke up last and saw Osamu and Fukunaga play Uno.
"You two having fun?"
Both of them looked at Suna and nodded.
"You wanna join us Rin?"
"No thanks, we should get breakfast though"
Fukunaga put down their last card and they went to get breakfast.
All three were chilling in the throne room, eating breakfast until Atsumu walks inside with someone.
"I found this person wandering around our forest"
Fukunaga looked at the person.
"Tora?"
Yamamoto laughs awkwardly
"Hi Shohei"
"Do you know him?"
Fukunaga nodded.
"He's a friend"
"I came here to search for Shohei, they hadn't shown up for their night guard duty"
"You're a guard as well?"
Suna looked at Fukunaga in shock, who nodded.
"I am a royal guard from Nekoma"
"But Shohei, we need you, the Shinzen empire is attacking"
"Sh*t"
"If you want you can take Atsumu, Osamu, and Suna with you for extra protection, they are really good guards"
That's how all five of them were running towards the Nekoma empire.
Before they enter the Fukurodani forest Atsumu pulled Yamamoto into a tree and Osamu and Suna pulled Fukunaga into a tree.
Fukunaga looked a bit confused at the two until they heard a noise.
They looked through the trees and saw Konoha and Komi walking around.
Fukunaga jumped out of the tree and waved.
"Hi Fukunaga, Kuroo-sama, and Bokuto-sama are looking for you they want you to guard the castle"
The others jumped out of the trees as well.
Komi jumped behind Konoha in surprise.
"Who are they?"
"Osamu, Suna, Atsumu, Tora"
Fukunaga said pointing at everyone.
"Okay, you should go to the Nekoma castle though"
The group arrived at the castle.
"Fukunaga, where did you go, we were worri-"
Yaku got caught off guard by the foxes that were with Fukunaga and Yamamoto.
"Who are they?"
"Friends, Osamu, Suna, Atsumu"
"Why are they here?"
"Help"
"They're here to help?"
Fukunaga nodded.
They send Atsumu, Osamu, and Yamamoto to help fight while Suna and Fukunaga stayed behind to defend the castle and the royal family.
"Hey kitten, how come you never told us you were a royal guard?"
"Never asked"
Suna shrugged because they were right.
"How is life in Nekoma?"
"It's pretty relaxed, until now we had no complications"
"Must be nice, we had quite the complications recently"
Yamamoto and Atsumu walked inside with a wounded Osamu.
"The troops were able to drive away Shinzen without many wounded people, Osamu got hurt because he took an arrow for me!"
Yamamoto sounded like he felt guilty for it.
Suna took over from Yamamoto.
"Kitten, mind showing us where the healer is?"
Fukunaga nodded and they walked away, Atsumu looked back at Yamamoto.
"It's not your fault"
Osamu was being healed by Yaku and Shibayama.
"Is he going to be okay?"
Suna was walking around impatiently.
Fukunaga grabbed his arms and pushed him onto the couch in the waiting room.
"Osamu-san will be okay, Yaku and Shibayama are great healers"
They sat down next to Suna.
"I promise he'll be okay"
Suna fell asleep with his head resting on Fukunaga's shoulder, the contact making Fukunaga purr softly.
Shibayama and Osamu left the other room to see the two lying there.
"They're adorable"
Shibayama looked up at Osamu.
"Do you like them?"
Osamu looked startled at the question but slowly nodded.
"I do, my feelings for Fukunaga aren't that strong yet but they will become stronger"
Shibayama smiled.
"I hope Inarizaki and Nekoma become allies so you three can be around each other more"
"I hope so too"
Osamu smiles as he sat down on the other side of Fukunaga and rested his head on Fukunaga's shoulder as well.
Shibayama walked back to Yaku in the other room.
Fukunaga woke up first and smiled at the two boys leaning on top of them.
They slowly started playing with Suna's hair.
Kuroo walked inside.
"Oh, they're asleep?"
Fukunaga nodded and Kuroo sat in a chair across from them.
"Do you think it's a good idea to become allies with Inarizaki?"
Fukunaga thought for a second and nodded.
"Wanna explain why?"
"They're all so strong and their king is a highly respectful and respected person. He is also strong-willed, smart, and reasonable"
Kuroo nodded.
"I would love to meet him"
Kuroo and Fukunaga kept talking until Fukunaga felt Suna slowly waking up.
Fukunaga stopped playing with Suna's hair.
"Keep going pls"
Fukunaga giggled a bit but continued.
Suna opened his eyes.
"How long was asleep for?"
Fukunaga held up two fingers.
"Apparently two hours"
Suna sat up straight in shock.
"Where is Samu!?"
"I'm over here Rin"
Osamu looked up from Fukunaga's other shoulder.
Suna smiled and relaxed back into the couch.
"Sorry I fell asleep on you Fukunaga"
"No worries"
Suna yawned and leaned back onto Fukunaga.
"I'm still tired"
"Don't sleep here though, it's not comfortable"
Osamu, Suna, and Fukunaga walked toward Fukunaga's room.
"Are you sure it's okay?"
Fukunaga nodded.
They sat down on their bed and opened their arms.
Osamu and Suna hugged them.
Fukunaga started playing with Suna's hair and slowly rubbed Osamu's back.
Suna yawned again and fell asleep really fast.
"He sleeps really quickly"
Osamu nodded and smiled.
"I'm glad I got to meet him"
"How long have you two known each other for?"
"About seven years, we met when we were ten"
"Wow"
"Would you mind telling me how you two met?"
Osamu smiled.
"Sure!"
Flashback from how they met:
"Hey, Samu!"
Atsumu ran towards Osamu.
"Look what I can do!"
Atsumu made a ball of light in his hand and he smiled so brightly.
"Wow, Tsumu! That's so cool!"
"Have you tried to use your magic yet?"
Osamu shook his head.
"I haven't yet"
"Try it!"
Osamu concentrated and nothing happened.
"Aww, sad, maybe next time!"
It became dark and Osamu and Atsumu were lost right outside of the woods of Inarizaki.
"Miya~"
"Samu, did you hear that?"
Osamu nodded and when he tried to walk away a vine tried to grab him.
Atsumu tried to summon the ball of light but it didn't work.
Osamu started screaming while he was being dragged into the forest.
A man appeared and cut the vine.
"Are you boys okay?"
Osamu and Atsumu nodded.
A little boy appeared from behind the man, he waved awkwardly.
"My son Rintaro saw you two being attacked by the forest spirits"
"Thank you"
Osamu said softly, kind of shy to talk to this new kid.
Time went by and Osamu and Suna started hanging out every so often, till every month, till every week, till almost every day.
They caught feelings for each other about a year after they met.
Neither of them knew that it was romantical so they thought they were just best friends until the age of fifteen.
"Osamu..."
Osamu turned to look at Suna.
"What's up Sunarin?"
"I like you, romantically"
Osamu turned a bit red.
"Really! Cause I have liked you for forever"
Suna smiled and kissed Osamu on his cheek softly.
"Sorry"
He mumbled quickly after.
Osamu gave him a kiss in return.
"No need to apologize, I didn't mind it"
Suna smiled and he opened his arms for Osamu who gladly accepted the hug.
Osamu smiled into his chest, so happy to be dating this lovely person.
"Aww, that's so cute"
Osamu smiles.
"Do you have anyone you're dating right now?"
Fukunaga shook their head.
"I am also not searching for it, it'll come when it does"
"That makes sense, you can't force feelings"
After a few hours of talking Osamu and Fukunaga also fell asleep.
Kuroo had sent a letter to the Inarizaki kingdom to meet prince Kita that same day.
Kita had read the message and decided to go the next day, he send that message with the messenger back that gave him Kuroo's letter.
That next day Kita arrived in the kingdom with Ginjima and Aran on his side.
"Pleasure to meet you prince Kuroo"
Kita gave a small bow and Ginjima and Aran gave a deep bow.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too Kita-san"
Kita smiled and they sat down to talk.
"Where are Atsumu, Osamu, and Suna?"
Ginjima asked Aran nervously.
"Atsumu is I believe either in the kitchen or talking with my fiancé, Osamu and Suna are with one of our guards, Fukunaga"
Kuroo smiled at Ginjima.
"If you want you can search for them, I can send Inuoka or Teshiro to help you find them"
Ginjima's face brightened.
"You won't mind that, are you sure?"
"I am sure, I can understand it if you want to see your friends"
"Thank you Kuroo-sama"
Ginjima bowed thankfully while Kuroo called Teshiro to join him.
Ginjima and Teshiro were walking toward the kitchen.
"Hey, Ginjima!"
Atsumu walked up to Ginjima while having some food in his hands.
"They make really good food here"
Teshiro smiled.
"Was it food from Fukunaga, Lev, or Kai-san?"
"Uhh, I think Kai-san"
"What did he make?"
"Miso soup"
"Oooh, he makes the best miso soup"
Teshiro smiled lovingly.
"I think he still has some"
The three ate some of Kai's miso soup and they continued searching for Osamu and Suna.
"You looked like you really like Kai-san"
Teshiro turned red.
"I do not!"
"Mhm, for sure"
"We have arrived at Fukunaga's room"
Teshiro knocked on the door and a soft "come inside" was heard so they did look inside.
Osamu was awake with Fukunaga asleep with their head on his chest and Suna asleep on Fukunaga's chest.
"Aww"
Atsumu said softly.
"They look like they're comfortable"
Teshiro whispered.
Ginjima smiled and he left the room.
Atsumu and Teshiro followed.
"We should let them sleep"
"We were on the topic of you two thinking I like Kai-san but do either one of you two like someone?"
Ginjima and Atsumu stopped walking.
"I- what?"
Teshiro smiled.
"I am taking that as a yes, who do you two like?"
"I like Omimi, our second in command of the guards"
Atsumu gasped.
"Really!? I heard somewhere he likes you too!"
Ginjima blushed.
"Really, you did?"
Atsumu nodded.
"Then what about you Atsumu-san?"
"I uhh, Sakusa Kiyoomi from the Itachiyama nation"
"Really? Isn't he one of their guards?"
Atsumu nodded
"He is, we may or may not also have met up in secret. I know were not allies but were also not enemies, we are neutral countries."
"Are you planning on telling Kita-sama?"
Atsumu looked at Teshiro with confusion.
"Like with Fukunaga, Suna-san and Osamu-san"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, they talked to the princes about their relationship and now the princes are talking about an alliance"
"Makes sense but I don't know if I would dare to do that."
Kita and Kuroo who heard that smiled.
"Guess my guards are very gay"
Kita giggled.
"Yeah, mine are as well"
"But we agree about our alliance?"
Kuroo nodded.
"Also, you said you had a fiancé?"
"Yeah, that would be me"
Yaku appeared from behind a wall.
"And you know it's not nice to eavesdrop on your guards"
"You eavesdropped on us"
"Not really, you just know I hear a lot"
Kuroo smiled.
"I know, sorry darling"
Yaku stood on his tippy toes while he pulled Kuroo down by his collar to give him a small peck on the lips.
Suna woke up and looked up to only see Osamu awake.
"Slept well, my love?"
Suna nodded sleepily.
He sat up slowly and looked at Fukunaga who was asleep.
"Cute"
He mumbled softly.
Osamu smiled.
"They are but you and them together are also cute"
Suna smiled as well and looked up and down from Osamu and Fukunaga.
"We both like them, don't we?"
Osamu nodded.
"Do you wanna tell them?"
"Not yet, we didn't meet too long ago"
Suna gave a look of agreement.
"You're right"
"Suna, Osamu?"
Kita knocked on Fukunaga's door.
"Come inside"
Kita went inside and sat on the bed.
"Me, Aran, Atsumu, and Ginjima are going back to Inarizaki you two can decide when to come back but be back before the end of the week please"
The two nodded and Kita stood up again.
"Take care of each other"
"Yes Kita-sama, you take care of Aran, okay?"
Kita shoots him a fake angry look and smiles.
"I will don't worry"
Fukunaga sat up sweating, scaring Osamu and Suna who were sitting next to them.
"Are you okay!?"
They shook their head.
Suna slowly reached his hand towards Fukunaga, who flinched away.
"Don't worry kitten, I won't hurt you"
Fukunaga didn't really react except for them looking up a bit.
"Shohei, I promise neither of us wanna hurt you, we don't know what happened in your nightmare but we're here for you"
Fukunaga relaxed a bit more and they allowed Suna to touch them who rubbed circles on their back.
After almost half an hour Fukunaga calmed down.
"Are you okay now?"
Fukunaga nodded.
"We are really glad you are"
Suna started playing with Fukunaga's hair, and Fukunaga laughed a bit about that.
"Why are you laughing?"
Osamu laughed too.
"Samu!?"
"You turned the tables Sunarin"
"Oh"
Suna facepalmed and also started laughing.
After the three got out of bed they went to the kitchen.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Whatever you can make, I don't really mind anything"
"Osamu?"
"Oh Samu eats everything"
Fukunaga nodded and grabbed some stuff to make food.
They made some yakisoba for the other two.
"Thank you!"
After eating the three went to the castle gardens, and they walked through the big flower field.
Suna pointed at two people.
"Who are those people?"
"Oh, that's Kai-san and Teshiro"
"Are they kissing?"
Fukunaga gasped and smiled.
"Finally!"
They started giggling while Osamu and Suna looked confused.
The trio decided to eventually sit down underneath a big cherry blossom tree.
"It is so pretty here in these gardens"
"Kai-san takes good care of them"
"He does"
Suna almost screamed.
"Oh sorry! Did I scare you!"
Teshiro kept stammering apologies.
"It's okay, you cats just walk so softly"
Kai also appeared next to Teshiro.
"I am glad you like how my work looks"
These five sat there talking for until it was time to make dinner for the guards.
"By the way, Kai-san, Teshiro, were you two on a date?"
Both of their faces went a bit red.
"We were"
Kai hugged Teshiro from behind and smiled.
Teshiro turned around in Kai's arms and hid his face in Kai's chest.
"You two are cute together"
Fukunaga and Kai went to make dinner for the guards, Suna and Osamu watched for a while.
"Do you need me to help?"
"Oh, you don't have to. You're our guest"
"Okay"
Eventually, they did ask Osamu to help because they heard that one of the cooks had fallen sick halfway through the day.
After eating dinner Osamu, Suna, and Fukunaga want to Fukunaga's room again.
"We are most likely going to leave tomorrow to go back to Inarizaki."
Fukunaga nodded.
"That's understandable, is it okay if I walk you both till the end of Fukurodani?"
"That's fine by me"
Osamu nodded in agreement.
"Okii!!"
They talked a bit longer before they all fell asleep in each other's arms.
"Goodbye kitten"
"Of course, it's not goodbye forever, we will see each other again"
Fukunaga smiled at Suna and Osamu who just left the Fukurodani forest.
"Bye! I hope to see you soon"
They turned around and walked back towards the castle to go on guard duty and guard their king.
