champagne corsets

Summary:

he loved you since the very beginning, yet he never chose to do anything. a mere corset wrapped around your body was the one thing able to assist him in confessing his feelings.

alternatively, miya atsumu is in love with you and at the end of the night, he helps you with your corset.

Work Text:

sponsored events weren’t miya atsumu’s type of party.

especially when you have to constantly kiss people’s asses and plaster a fake smile on your face, it wasn’t his cup of tea. his jaw was aching and his stomach swirled from the amount of champagne he downed.

he wasn’t sure why he was here, standing in a crowd of men in suits who clinked glasses and chuckled over who knows what. all he knew was he wasn’t interested whatsoever and his eyes desperately scanned the room for someone to help him escape the misery he placed himself into.

after moments of searching, a sense of relief washes over him and a smile that was a bit too wide creeps up onto his face when he spots you, leaning against a wall with your own glass of the expensive cider in your hand.

maybe this night won’t be as bad.

atsumu excused himself from the crowd who barely acknowledged his departure and he strides his way towards you. your eyes catch him walking towards you and you give him a small wave to notify you noticed him.

the faux blond grinned and took the chance to make you laugh. he did a little twirl and placed his half empty champagne glass onto a tray a server was holding. you couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh in amusement while you watched the trick atsumu pulled off.

“did ya like that? was smooth, wasn’t it?” he boasted once he reached you, hands inside the pockets of his slacks. you rolled your eyes and let out a playful scoff, your attention caught by the people on the dance floor.

“as if, it was a bit sloppy, i think you can do better,” you replied, knowing full well it was pretty hilarious to watch him do something so silly.

your eyes turned back to face the tall man in front of you. you took in how perfect his black tux fitted on him with his tie loosely wrapped around his neck. you didn’t realize you were staring at him but atsumu caught you in the midst of it. he couldn’t help but ponder if you thought he looked good.

he was going to ask, but instead a teasing remark escaped his lips, “take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

you raised an eyebrow, staring right at him before letting out another scoff in disbelief. “you wish, you’d probably start bragging if i did” you retorted, receiving a laugh from atsumu in return.

“you’re right, but hey, if ya did take a photo, i would be more happy than prideful.”

you raised an eyebrow and let out a scoff in disbelief, “you wish, you’d probably start bragging if i did,” you retorted.

atsumu chuckled and shrugged with a stupid grin on his face. he took the time to admire what you were wearing, his eyes glancing up and down at your outfit.

“you look nice, i like the corset,” he complimented which to you tilted your head at and smiled.

“are you flirting with me, miya?”

“do you count that as flirting?”

“do you?”

atsumu shrugged, his smile never faltered once and he didn’t say anything more as he took one last glance at you before he looked away.

he eyed the people at the dance floor and smiled. his elbow nudged you and he nodded towards the crowd.

“let’s dance,” he suggested. you shook your head and laughed.

“i’m not a great dancer,” you declined his offer to which he grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the wooden floor.

“nonsense, i’ve seen you dance,” he replied, taking your other hand and started to groove to the music. you couldn’t help but let out another laugh and followed his movements.

“see? how dare you lie to me.”

“i did not lie, miya.”

he huffed and spun you around, keeping his pace relatively close to the beat of the music. the both of you danced and laughed once in a while, enjoying both of each other’s presence.

you broke away from him after a few minutes and patted his shoulder, “i’m going to the restroom, you’ll be okay by yourself, yeah?”

he slowly nodded, disappointed that his time with you came to an end. but instead of a frown on his face, he smiled at you and gave you a wink. “if ya need anything from me, holler and i’ll be there,” he pointed finger guns at you, happy to see that you laughed.

“hopefully you can hear me then, i’ll be devastated to see that my knight in shining armour didn’t come to my rescue,” you humoured and bid your goodbyes to the man before disappearing into the crowd.

atsumu sighed and his shoulders relaxed while he reached to rub the nape of his neck. he realized how cheesy and stupid he sounded, groaning into his hands while he walked off to the side.

maybe he could find you again and try once more, or maybe he should just leave you alone and keep the moment sacred.

he decided on the latter and dragged himself into another crowd. he attempted to mingle for a bit, only for it to last a few minutes and he found himself in a hallway away from the party. atsumu explored the venue for a bit until he stopped in his tracks.

he watched you try to grab something from your back in the middle of the hall. he made his way towards you and you noticed him almost immediately.

“oh my god, ‘tsumu you’re my saviour, can you tighten this for me please?” you questioned and turned around. he looked down and saw how loose the corset was on you. his hands took grasp of the lace and pulled on it.

he tried to be careful but his lack of knowledge on how to use a corset really didn’t help him in this case. he grumbled and turned you around by the lace to see if that would help him in any way. you yelped and placed your hands onto his chest.

atsumu apologized under his breath and finally secured the lace with a bow, hands resting against your waist. the both of you made eye contact, not sure what to say to each other.

you uttered a ‘thank you,’ hands still against his chest. you didn’t make an effort to pull away and atsumu swallowed. he gently grabbed you by the waist and pulled you in for a kiss, to his surprise, you gladly accepted it.

he pulled away and gasped for air. you both looked at each other with soft eyes and your cheeks flushed a dark red. “shit, i— sorry, i shouldn’t have kisse-” he panicked and moved away from you.

you grabbed him by the collar and grinned, “now that was smooth, ‘tsumu. didn’t know you had it in you.”

his mouth gaped open in offence and he furrowed his eyebrow, “obviously, i do! ‘m the smoothest on the team,” he scoffed and you snickered and his reaction.

“if you’re the smoothest, why did it take you forever to muster up the courage to kiss me, hm?”

atsumu was speechless and his face expressed a more offended face before he stared at you in surprise. “you were waiting for me?!” you laughed and suppressed your laughs by pursing your lips.

“possibly but, you can’t kiss me before a date, miya,” you pointed out and he started to heat up.

“i— fine.. would ya.. would ya..” he struggled and narrowed his eyes at you before he pulled you into another kiss.

you were the one to pull away this time and atsumu grumbled, “you and me, go out for food this week or something..”

“so demanding, miya.” you joked and he rolled his eyes, pressing his lips against yours.

“shut up, will ya?” he muttered against you, wrapping his arms around your waist while you snaked your arms around his neck.
