Pirates, unlike Rangers, did not have moral codes. They did not have codes of honor. Halt tried to remember that, and he failed. He was his honor, his reputation.
It was this he fell back on when Will came to him, wanting something he wouldn’t give, even if they were pirates now. Because no one back home had honor.
It was taking advantage of him, because he was so young, even if he was so eager.
But he was human too, bitter, betrayed, and bought.
So he let Will kiss him and tried not to feel like he was dead.
