Gil is tired of your shit

Summary:

A couple shorts about the antics Gil and Evening get up to

Notes:

I’m feel like one day Marlon finds Evening in the mines. They run into each other and he catches her fighting a bat in the dark and she scares the shit out of him wandering behind him in the shadows and realizes she’s been running around with no torches and one afternoon she’s raiding the guild’s kitchen before going down and Gil just slides her a bag of them and says “Use ‘em or I’ll never hear the end of Marl’s whinin’,” so she does and they have a moment thinking on how much they love Marlon.

Chapter Text

Evening made a mental note to bring cleaning wipes and trash bags the next time she came to the guild. There was a worrying amount of expired macaroni mix and dirt scattered across the little kitchen. She felt a chill as she realized she was being watched. When whatever she felt didn’t come forwards, she threw a quick look over her shoulder before relaxing. Just Gil. She held up a box of old macaroni, raising an eyebrow at the man. He shrugged as if to say “It wasn’t me,”. Evening rolled her eyes and stuffed a couple cooked eggs in her bag when she heard a thud behind her. She glanced at the floor behind her and saw a sack. She tilted her head at Gil and he gestured towards the bag. Evening knelt and untied the knapsack, pulling out a stack of old looking torches. She furrowed her brow at Gil, who’d materialized a mug without moving.

“Marlon caught ya in the mines, wanderin’ round in the dark tryna give him a heart attack,” he huffed, taking a long sip of his ale, “take ‘‘em and use ‘em, or I’ll never hear the end of it,” Evening laughed and threw them in her bag.

“Sorry, he gets worried about the silly of things sometimes,” She said, rearranging the things in her bag. Gil quirked his lip at her slip.

“Damn straight, one time- ah, never mind,” he huffed, turning away. Evening threw a quick look out the window, it was still pretty early in the day. She caught Gil by the elbow.

“I’ve got time,”

It was dark before they were done sharing stories, and they might not have stopped if Marlon hadn’t walked in on them sitting on the bedroom floor and snacking on eggs and ale.
