Chapter Text
“I have Made My Decision Adrien!”
The words echoed throughout the Agreste Mansion. Nathalie had barely woken up when she heard the Voice of her boss, no doubt in another heated argument with his son.
“Father it’s just by one hour! And My Bodyguard will drive me straight back home.”
Adrien’s voice was full of desperation, pleading with his father. Nathalie decided to gather her strength and walk out into the Atrium, to see what exactly was going on.
“Adrien! I will not have you questioning my Decisions!”
Nathalie opened the door to her room, still wearing her sleeping gown, her hair a mess. She was supposed to take the day off to rest. She looked at the two Agrestes, arguing on the stairs. They didn’t even notice her. But she noticed Adrien, he was getting angry. She saw him angry before, but now she could feel it. He was about to burst.
“Why do you get to Decide? There are no Photoshoots, No Commercials and No Outfit Tryouts Tomorrow. All I want is to spend time with my friends!”
Nathalie wanted to reach out. To stop them before it gets out of hand. But her own body betrayed her. She leaned in on the door to keep standing, unable to say anything.
“Adrien!” Gabriel Shouted, louder than ever. “As your Father -”
*Smash*
Nathalie looked over at Adrien. He Just Punched a Vase and it fall over and Shattered.
“MY FATHER? If you Consider yourself my father then act like it and Not like My manager!”
Nathalie was Shocked. As was Gabriel. Adrien was not like this. He never Lashed out, never broke anything out of anger. A feeling of Dread filled Nathalie’s mind. She knew Gabrel would not let that slide. She Looked over at Her Boss and she saw his Expression. Gone was the Condescending look he often wore in front of the public and Adrien. He was angry too.
“I do what I must Adrien. And it seems you do not appreciate my effort to keep you safe!” Gabriel spoke, in his voice was pure anger, even if he tried to maintain his composure.
“Please…” Nathalie forced herself to speak but was only able to utter a whisper.
“I would rather have fun with my friends than be safe while locked up in here!” Adrien retorted.
The words echoed in the room for a moment as Father and Son stared daggers at each other.
“As you wish!” Gabriel responded, his tone as cold as liquid nitrogen. “Pack your things and get out.”
Nathalie stared at Gabriel. She knew he would regret those words. This wouldn't go the way he thought. In her mind, she begged him to take those words back. Her eyes darted over Adrien. Adrien was shocked by his father’s words. And for a moment it looked like he might apologize and take any punishment his father deems correct, like many times in the past. But not this time. Adrien steeled his resolve.
“Well then. Goodbye, Mr Agreste.” Adrien walked into his room and slammed the door behind him.
Gabriel let out a frustrated Sigh and began to walk off only then noticing Nathalie who had been clinging to a half-open door for support. He rushed over to help her.
“You should be resting!” He spoke as he helped her back to bed.
“What did you do?” Nathalie asked quietly, not able to speak louder.
“You… Heard that…”
“Yes sir.”
“Do not worry about that. Adrien will understand. Even if he leaves he will be home before the end of the day.”
“I’m sorry Sir. But I am not so sure.”
Gabriel placed a hand on Nathalie’s. “Let me worry about that. You need rest.” He stood up and corrected his Tie. Nathalie’s eyes went wide. “Sir, you are not considering-?!”
“No. I am not. But I can still feel his anger. But I will not do that to him.” He removed the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous and placed them in a box.
Nathalie sighed in relief. He still cared. He still loved his son. There was still hope for them to fix their relationship, without relying on the Wish of the Miraculous.
MEANWHILE IN ADRIEN’S ROOM
Adrien threw clothes out of the wardrobe and to the floor.
“Adrien.” Plagg evaded the designer shirts and hoodies as they flew around him. “Adrien Calm down!”
Adrien spun around ad looked at Plagg. His face was angry but his eyes were full of tears. “Calm down? After that?” Adrien Gestured to the door.
“Your Father is a Jerk, this is nothing new. In Fact, it’s a good thing. You are now free from him and those Modeling gigs you hate.” Plagg Tried to put a positive spin on the situation.
Adrien sighed. He returned to the closet, grabbing some of his clothes and underwear as he stuffed them into a bag. “You are right but…”
“But?” Plagg floated up to his face.
“Where will I go now? Where will I sleep, have a shower, those kinds of things?”
“Is DJ boy not an option?” Plagg asked as if it was obvious.
Right, Nino. Adrien almost forgot. He put his packing on hold for a moment and went for his phone. Thankfully his Father didn't disable his number yet. If he knew how to do that without help from Nathalie.
Adrien dialled the number of His best buddy and sat down as it rang.
“Yo Dude! Did you get your Fathers permission?” Nino asked, as happy as usual.
Adrien couldn't help but Sigh.
“Hey is everything ok?” Nino followed up, clearly, the sigh gave it away.
“Good news is I am gonna be able to go to the movie.” Adrien forced out, trying yet failing in hiding his emotional state. “Bad news is I was thrown out of the house.” Adrien managed to squeeze the words out, it took his all to not burst out into tears.
Adrien expected Nino to question this. What he did not expect was the voice of an adult man Screaming “WHAT?” through his phone.
