Sailor Priestess (Dark Kingdom)

Summary:

Forced to stay in the future, Kagome is confronted with the information that she is not who she thought. Her real identity is Rei Hino. Soon enough, she would be swept into another war to fight for a powerful jewel - the Legendary Silver Crystal.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Thousands of years ago, there was a period called the Silver Millennium, a peaceful time ruled by the Moon Kingdom. It was a time that everything existed in harmony.

The primary duties of the Moon Kingdom were to protect the evolution of Earth from negative influences and to protect the Legendary Silver Crystal. The Moon Kingdom had handed down this powerful gem through the generations of the royal family.

Queen Serenity ruled the kingdom, but the moon was also the home to her daughter, Princess Serenity and her four guardians; Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus. All of her Sailor Guardians were the princesses of their respective planets.

Another important person during this era was Prince Endymion, who was the First Crown Prince of Earth. Despite the prohibition on the relations between the people of the Earth and the Moon, it didn’t stop Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity from falling in love.

Everything was peaceful until the Dark Kingdom attacked.

Under the influence of Queen Metalia, a jealous Beryl, they rallied the Earth’s citizens to wage war against the Moon Kingdom. The angered citizens attacked the Moon Kingdom as the Sailor Guardians fell one by one, protecting their princess until she and her prince were left. An attack from a woman nearly killed Princess Serenity until Endymion saved her with his body.

Out of despair, Princess Serenity couldn’t bear life without her guardians and her lover, so she took Endymion’s sword and thrust it into her body, taking her life.

The now-childless Queen of the Moon used the crystal’s power to fight the enemy and seal it away. She also used it to send her daughter and companions away to the future for reincarnation. However, this price would cause them to lose their memories.

The Outer Sailor Guardians later arrived, having not been present at the battle, but they saw the destruction of the Silver Millennium. They realised that they must do one thing. They awakened Sailor Saturn. The awakened guardian used her power of destruction on the remains of the Moon Kingdom, her fellow guardians and herself.

As per Queen Serenity’s wish, everyone who died that day was to be reborn in the future.

And yet, this is not the end.

The existence of Midoriko, a powerful Japanese priestess, proved that she could add more. How?

She was the reason for the creation of the Shikon Jewel. This powerful jewel grants immense power to those who possess it.

It was initially in the possession and protection of Kikyo until she met and fell in love with the half-demon Inuyasha. It wasn’t long before tragedy struck their relationship when another half-demon named Naraku tricked Kikyo into sealing Inuyasha into an endless slumber after her attack from “Inuyasha” instead of a clever disguise from Naraku. Her fatal wound cost her life.

Five hundred years later, a young girl named Kagome Higurashi was born, and on her fifteenth birthday, she travelled to the past and released Inuyasha from his sleep and the Shikon Jewel that had been inside her body from her birth the whole time.

After an accident, Kagome broke the jewel into thousands of shards, forcing her and Inuyasha to go on a quest to retrieve them all. On their journey, they met Shippo, Miroku, Sango and Kirara.

And that was only the beginning of their journey.

Chapter 2: NOT A CHAPTER (UPDATE)

Don't worry about the previous chapter, where I considered stopping this story. I've decided I won't, and I will continue this. I've planned a lot of this just to discontinue it because a similar story already exists, which hasn't been updated in 5 to 7 years, and the author is no longer active.

I may change some things around, but I will write more on this and I'm starting to work on the next chapter now.

I'll delete this note once the chapter is ready to be published here.

So, this idea came about when I found one of those look-alike images you find on Google, and I saw one of Sailor Mars/Rei Hino and Kagome Higurashi.

I thought: "They do look kinda similar. I mean, Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, but they do not look alike at all," then it hit me. "What if Kagome IS Rei, and is the reincarnation of the original Sailor AND Kikyo?"

Thus, this story was born.
