Chapter Text
Where to start? Eijirou knows maybe a bit too much about Bakugou, but that's natural! They're best friends, after all!
At the start of his first-year, it was something like a magnetism, something that just kept pulling him towards Bakugou. And now they're best bros and hell yes, Eijirou could write a book about Bakugou if he wanted to.
He just doesn't do things as people usually do. For one, he doesn't knock on doors, he just kicks them lightly with his hands usually occupied in his pockets. Well, maybe not too lightly for some people in particular. He tends to use a bit more force in general when it comes to Midoriya. Ah, another thing he knows about Bakugou! Him and Midoriya had patched things up pretty swiftly when the start of their second year rolled around. Bakugou still seems to be a tiny bit more fierce towards him in particular, but not aggressive in nature. They're kind of like siblings, it's a fun dynamic they have going! Eijirou can easily say that to anyone, even Bakugou! Well, maybe not directly to his face, using his voice, out loud. Okay, maybe he wouldn't actually! But that's just because he would definitely chase him around the dorms like a madman. That happened once before, when he asked Bakugou if he'd ever jerked off to the All Might poster facing his bed. In Kirishima's own defence, Denki had placed the thought in his head and begged him to ask, just too see the reaction. And well, it was pretty damn funny.
Bakugou's generally a funny guy, in all honesty. Just hear him out for a second on this one! Sure, Bakugou isn't your typical class clown, nor is he anywhere near comedian-tier, but he is funny, okay? Just this morning, for example!
Denki had jumped onto the couch from behind, plopping down beside Bakugou, who was plopped down beside (Guess who?) Kirishima himself.
"Dude, you smell better today." Denki had said before all but shoving his nose in Bakugou's hair, retracting with a confirming nod as the man himself boiled over with irritation. He ignored the string of curses Bakugou was hurling his way, "Yep." He nodded, popping the p and shooting a finger gun at the blonde still throwing handfuls of death threats at him. "You definitely smell different." At that, Bakugou just dropped an eyebrow at him with a disbelieving scowl. Fair enough. "Switch up your products, Kacchan?"
Bakugou crossed his arms with an unreadable expression, "Yeah, actually. My hair's been an bitch to maintain lately. I got some custom shampoo and conditioner- No, I didn't switch up my products you fucking dunce!" He shouted, and Eijirou had literally hurled over himself with laughter.
He had gone on to flick Denki's forehead with as much violence as he could muster into the small action. It was much more of an annoyance-induced attack rather than a light-hearted scold. How does Kirishima know that, you ask? Well, the pink mark on Denki's forehead four hours later is very telling.
So yeah, maybe Bakugou's not a comedy genius in all respects, but what can he say? Eijirou can't help finding the sarcastic comments and satiric attitude funny as all shit.
Turning back on track, there's a lot that Kirishima knows about Bakugou. Some things are obvious, things that everyone in class had to have noticed over the span of their first year at U.A. Like the way Bakugou rests his chin in his palm, elbow propped on his desk as he stares out the window before lessons start. And that he's a good cook! And damn, he is a good cook. Everyone in class knows that, but only Kirishima knows the confession Bakugou had given him when he questioned the origin of his skills in the kitchen.
"Learned when I was younger." He had shrugged, sliding the rapidly-chopped carrots into a bowl. Eijirou nodded, expecting that to be the end of his answer.
"Wanted to be the best at everything so I never had to rely on any extras for anything." He explained easily, though his tone had dropped a bit at the disclosure. "Even mastered sewing." He snorted, eyes layered with something Kirishima couldn't quite place. Nevertheless, his heart softened at the admission and his lips melted into a wobbly smile. He appreciated Bakugou sharing something that was obviously personal to him.
Maybe Bakugou's just gone soft on him! Although, to the other's credit, he had called Kirishima a nosy fucker before giving the answer.
So obviously there were things only Kirishima knew. Things that Bakugou reserved for only his knowledge. His series of nightmares, his liking for pre-quirk movies, his triggers. Well, most things trigger Bakugou to some degree, sure, but we're talking like triggers.
For one, the dude despises swimming. He absolutely hates it. Kirishima had found that out when the class went on a day trip to the beach, and Denki had pressed Bakugou to go in the ocean with them. Like, pressed. When Bakugou stayed firm on his no, Denki genuinely started to believe that he couldn't swim and that only riled him up until he performed an aggressive breast stroke in the sea. Upon receiving the cheers of their class, he immediately stormed off. Naturally, Kirishima followed next to him, 'cause what are best buds for, right!? But when Bakugou started spitting and complaining about the taste of the salt water, Kirishima's concern grew a bit. His gut feeling was correct, eventually Bakugou snapped and had a sensory meltdown, shouting about the water popping in his ears and the feeling of the sand combined with the sunscreen he had on. Kirishima managed to usher him into a public shower nearby, easily sacrificing 2000 yen into an 8 minute shower slot.
So yeah, he makes sure to keep Bakugou away from water since then.
He'd gone down the elevator with Bakugou to go down to the common area many times before, and a good few times he would take a few steps forward, hear the abundance of shrieking noise that is Mina or Hagakure (sometimes Denki), and just turn back around with a solid "Nope." So maybe he isn't a social creature! But that's totally understandable, sometimes even Eijirou finds himself wondering how his friends are so hyper all the time.
