Power… it's the thing that controls the world… Those with power will rise but those without will suffer. But sometimes there are special kinds of people. People called "Creatures". Creatures are powerless people in this world. People that have been cast aside by society due to their lack of power. Even the lowest of the low beat down of them. But maybe… Just maybe… There's power in everyone.
Jaune hit the floor with an "oof" as he looked up and saw three people looking over him. A blue-haired girl with green eyes stared at him with a sadistic grin as a blond boy with orange eyes stomped on him. The third was a blue-haired boy with spiky hair and blue eyes. All their eyes were also glowing.
"How pathetic can you be Arc?!" The girl laughed as scales were over her arms. "Literally the weakest low-life in the fucking school!" The blond said as he glared down at Jaune. "F-fuck you!" Jaune said as the three stopped smirking and glared at him.
"I don't think you understand your place trash!" The blue-haired boy said before he outstretched his hand and a small blue ball formed.
"Hey!" A deep voice called as the four teenagers turned to it. "What are you doing?! Skipping class?!" The large man said as his red eyes glowed. "No sir. We were simply telling Jaune here something." The blue-haired boy said as the teacher looked down at Jaune and his bloody and bruised face. He sighed before turning to the others. "Get to a lecture hall before you are reported!" He yelled before walking off. "And clean up that mess you call a face." He told to Jaune harshly.
"Tayden, Rick. Let's go. Forget him." The blue-haired girl said. "Yeah, alright Riley. Let's go Tayden." The blue-haired boy said as he walked off. "Peace out Arc!" Tayden cried as he spat in Jaune's direction.
Jaune picked himself up before walking to his class. He walked in and a few people turned to him and started snickering when they saw him. Jaune walked up to the professor and bowed. "Sorry for being late… I got caught up." Jaune said as the older man glared at him. "This is quite the habit you have. Just get to a seat!" He said as Jaune walked to the back before sitting down and laying his head down. "Fuck this school!" He thought as he began to dose off before the door was opened. He looked up to see a girl walk in. She was quite short and walked up to the professor who looked annoyed to be interrupted before the girl said something to him and he seemed to be surprised before clearing his throat.
"It appears we have a new student to our college. Wish her well." He said as the girl walked forward. She had short brunette hair with red tips and fair skin. She wore the school uniform, unlike Jaune, which consisted of a blue blazer with a black skirt and dress shoes. She was a little different by the fact that she didn't wear the tie nor undershirt she was supposed to wear and instead wore a black shirt with a red rose on it. But her most streaking feature was her silver eyes. They seemed to just gleam in the light as she bowed.
"My name is Ruby Rose." She said simply before she walked up and to the back before sitting down a little away from Jaune. As she walked up though Jaune noticed that she had glared at the people who looked at her as if she was fresh meat. Gave a much better impression than Jaune did.
After class ended Jaune was in no hurry to leave. At least in class fighting was banned. So, he was safe momentarily and he was planning to take full advantage of that fact.
He eventually walked out to see Ruby pinned by two upperclassmen. Initiation. Jaune would be lying if he said he wasn't hoping she might also be a creature. Not to bully her himself but just to take the heat off himself. Was the thought fucked up? Yeah. Did he really care? No.
He was quickly proven wrong when the girl punched one of the boys across the face.
Ruby walked out of class and brought out her schedule. "My first time at a college… I'm only 15… damn my bizarrely high intelligence!" Ruby thought as she looked for her next class. Someone then touched her shoulder as Ruby turned before being shoved into a wall.
"What the hell?!" Ruby cried as she looked at two boys staring at her. One with Spiky red hair with red eyes and one with long green hair tied into a ponytail with blue eyes. "Welcome to Beacon! I'm the King around here. The name's Ryan. And that goon over there is my rook, Railand." He said as Ruby glared at them. "Now we just wanna tell you the rules around here. Rule number 1, obey me at all times. Rule number 2, Do whatever I say. Rule Number 3, Never go against me. You got that?" Ryan said with a smirk.
"How dumb are you?" Ruby asked as Ryan's smirk disappeared and he glared at Ruby. "All those rules mean the same thing." Ruby continued. "Yeah! That's the fucking point bitch!" He screamed into Ruby's face as the girl just stared at him.
"They point is to be a dumbass?' Ruby asked as Ryan's red eyes glowed. "Alright time to teach you a lesson in respect bitch!" Ryan cried as he raised his fist and it glowed red as he tried to punch Ruby.
But before his fist could reach Ruby, she blocked his punch with her arm and glared at him as her own silver eyes glowed. "A strength enhancement semblance huh? Nothing too special." Ruby said before she used her other fist to slam into Ryan's face sending him sprawling. She looked to her side to see his friend's eyes glowing as well. Ruby quickly slammed her elbow into his nose, breaking it and sending him to the ground.
She turned to Ryan who spat out blood before glaring and her and getting up and trying to punch her again. "Doing the same thing won't work on me." Ruby thought before she dodged his punch and twisted around him and slammed her elbow into his back.
"GAK!" He cried as he coughed up blood. He hit the ground as he glared up at Ruby. He jumped up once more much faster than Ruby was expecting and slammed into her face. "Guess he wasn't going all out. Though to be fair. I'm not either." Ruby thought.
"Like that bitch?!" Ryan taunted as Ruby glared. Silver Aura then washed over her face and her wounds healed. "H-how the fuck?!" Ryan cried as Ruby rushed at him and slammed her legs into his, causing him to fall down before Ruby stomped on his back.
"Had enough?" Ruby asked as she glared down at him. "F-fuck you… bitch!" Ryan said with venom lasing his voice.
"Ryan!" A male voice said as Ruby and Jaune turned to see a tall boy, standing just a few inches under Jaune's 6'3 stature, with neatly done blue-hair and glasses with green eyes walked up.
"It appears you've been defeated Ryan…" He said as Ryan clenched his fist. The boy then turned to Ruby before getting down to his knees with his arm around his chest. "Hail to you my queen." He said as Ruby looked at him exasperated. "Please… my name is just Ruby…" She said as the boy stood up. "And my name is Dylan. I congratulate you on your new title." He said as Ruby sighed. "Aren't you a kiss-up?" She thought before turning to Jaune who she had noticed watched the entire thing.
She walked up to him and scanned him. Seeing what she saw she smirked.
Jaune couldn't believe what he saw. Ever since he'd been on the low-tier/mid-tier floor he had only seen Ryan get his ass handed to him that badly by Mid-tiers. Jaune almost felt bad, but it was very satisfying to watch that asshole get his. When he heard Dylan's voice he almost jumped out of his skin. Dylan loved bullying him, but he just narrowly avoided getting beat today as he went to kiss-up to the new Queen in hopes she wouldn't beat his ass.
So, imagine how his soul left his body when the new Queen started walking up to him. Was she gonna celebrate her new title by beating him as soon as she could?! He looked down at her as he towered over the girl who looked around 5'2. But knew she could put him in the dirt with ease. But… she smiled at him.
"And who are you?" Ruby asked as Jaune gulped. "Uhm Jaune Arc..." He said as he assessed Ruby. She giggled. "I'm not gonna beat your ass dude. Relax!" She said and Jaune's jaw nearly hit the floor. Was she actually being honest?
Dylan then walked over to the two of them. "My queen. Please do not talk to such filth. Arc is a worthless creature." Dylan said with a hateful glare towards Jaune. What he didn't notice was Ruby's own glare directed towards himself. But he did notice Jaune's. "Who the hell do you think you're glaring at Arc?!" He roared before his eyes glowed, and he attempted to punch Jaune but was stopped by Ruby. "If he's a creature then there's no reason to hit him." Ruby said coldly as her glowing silver eyes glared directly into Dylan's soul.
"B-but my queen…" Dylan said as Ruby let his wrist go. She then walked off and passed Jaune before turning around. "Come on." She said as Jaune pointed at himself. "Yes, you dummy." Ruby said with a laugh. "Hurry up before I beat you down." Ruby said jokingly as Jaune raced after her. "I thought you weren't gonna beat me?" He said with a slight smile as Ruby smiled back up at him. "I was just joking!" She said as she and Jaune walked off. "Where are we going?" Jaune asked. "You'll see." Ruby replied with a wink.
"Why? Why would the queen associate herself with a lowly creature?" Dylan asked as Railand had already helped Ryan to the infirmary.
"Dave's great drinks?" Jaune asked as they stood outside a store. "Trust me the name is accurate. Your paying by the way." Ruby said as she walked in. She sat down at a table as Jaune sat down with her. Before any talk could be made a waitress showed up. "What would you like?" She asked as Ruby perked up. "Banana and Strawberry smoothie please. Oh, and with a cookie!" She said as the waitress wrote it down before turning to Jaune. "Oh... the mega slurper." Jaune said as Ruby laughed. "Dude that's like the most expensive thing on the menu!" Ruby laughed as Jaune blushed. "It sounded good!" He protested as Ruby's laughter died down.
"We'll be right back with your drinks." The waitress said before walking off. Ruby took notice of the fact she only said drinks and was thinking of all the ways she'd blow the store up if her cookie wasn't included. And right back she was. She came back with both drinks ready in moments and sat them down before the two. Ruby's was a normal drink and did indeed have her cookie. But it was nothing to the monster of a drink that Jaune had.
"Dude… can you even handle that?" Ruby asked as Jaune shrugged. "Never will know until I try!" He said before he put his lips around the straw… and slurped the juice like his life depended on it.
Ruby watched as he drank down the Mega Slurper in less than 2 minutes and gasped and Jaune let out a hearty burp. "Ohh gross Jaune!" Ruby said, waving her hands in front of her face playfully. The waitress then walked up to them before noticing Jaune's drink. "Oh my… you did it…" She said as Ruby and Jaune looked at her quizzically. "You completed the Mega Slurp challenge by finishing it in less than 1 minute and 30 seconds." She said as the duo looked at each other and Ruby shrugged. "I never even knew about the challenge." She said, drinking her own smoothie.
"Here's your coupon. Free drinks at Dave's for life! Just don't lose it!" She said with a wink before walking off. Ruby and Jaune looked at each other before smiling. "Alright! You did it Mega Slurper!" Ruby said as Jaune grimaced. "Not liking… that name." He said as Ruby looked at him with confusion. "You alright?" Ruby asked as Jaune gave a thumbs up. "Just… drank a little too fast…." He said.
Ruby laughed again as she ate her cookie. "Woah there vomit boy. Don't want to splash your lunch everywhere. We might have to pay for it." Ruby joked as Jaune playfully glared at her. "C'mon Vomit Boy?! Not as bad as Mega Slurper but come on!" Jaune said with a slight pout as Ruby giggled.
"Well, you better not lose that coupon. Because I'm planning on taking you here as often as I can!" Ruby cried as Jaune looked up. "What? Didn't think we were only gonna hang out once, right?" Ruby said with a wink as Jaune smiled. "I hope not!" He said with a laugh.
This truly was the start of a beautiful friendship .
