Chapter Text
It was a grand party. All of the elite of the wizard world were there. Sacred 28 families, higher ups of the Ministry and ambassadors of many nations of world were there. The Malfoys knew how to throw a party.
Lucius, Narcissa, Draco and his heavily pregnant wife opened the grand ballroom doors, inviting everyone to enter for dinner.
As they were walking to the main table, Lucius saw a strange shaped dome in the middle of the dance floor.
“What is this?” Lucius demanded to the cowering house elves.
“I am sorry, Master.” One of the elves said. “We cants move it. We cants make it go away.”
Draco took out his wand and casted a lifting spell. The dome did not move. He cast a spell to make it disappear. It did not. He then tried to destroy it but when the spell hit, sparks flew everywhere but the dome still stood firm in the middle of the ballroom floor.
“Zabini, Pucey, Nott.” Draco shouted. “Pick this thing up and move it out of here.”
Zabini, Pucey and Nott surrounded the dome and tried to grip the bottom of it and lift. They could only move it a little before they dropped it. Several more men were ordered to help move the dome, but they could not lift it or move it more than several millimeters.
“It’s not stuck to the floor…” Nott said with a grunt. “…it weighs a ton.”
“Forget it!!” Lucius snarled. “We will deal with it later.”
Dinner went on smoothly. With only an occasional glare of Narcissa at the dome. It was not until dinner was over and speeches were to begin when the dome opened and start to expand. It expended to fill the entire dance floor with shiny panels. A bright light flashed and, when everyone’s eyes adjusted, they saw a vision of a woman standing in the center of the room. A woman that no one has seen for 5 years, Hermione Granger.
Hermione Granger was standing there but yet she wasn’t there. “She’s a hologram.” One of the half-bloods shouted. Hologram? None of the sacred 28 knew what that meant.
She stood there with a smirk. Her hair was braided on the side of her head, to keep it out of her face but her curls still cascaded down her back. She was wearing a black sleeveless vest that ended at her ribs. She was also was wearing a long red flowy skirt. A gold chain rested on her waist and she was wearing what looked like gold cuff bracelets on her wrists.
“Remember me.” Hermione said with a grin, staring at the Malfoys.
Hermione started walking around the edge of the panels, without waiting for an answer.
“5 years ago, today I was here standing at the bottom of the staircase at the instruction of someone who will not be named.” Hermione stated while glancing at Draco, whose face reddened in anger.
She looked around the room. “Everyone in this room saw me there and made some very nasty comments.” Hermione continued. “and I heard everyone of them.”
“He was adamant that I stand there...” Hermione angrily stated as she walked back to stand in front of Draco. “…and wait for him. He said he was going to announce our relationship. He said he loved me.”
Draco gave her an evil grin.
“But all of you knew he was lying.” Hermione said with an evil grin of her own. “What he did not know was that I also had an announcement that night. I was going to announce to his parents that I was 9 weeks pregnant at the time.” Draco’s eyes bulged out and Narcissa covered her mouth with her hand in shock.
Hermione grinned and started walking around the room again. “Now you are probably wondering how we all got here. You see the Ministry assigned me to catalog all the dark objects in the Malfoy Manor and vaults. Lucius was not very happy with this. He ordered Draco to harass me.”
Hermione turned towards Draco and continued. “Draco decided to do something different. He tried to convince me that he was in love with me.”
She walked towards a table that was filled with women. “I, of course, was very overwhelmed and finished the assignment and left. Escaped rather.” Hermione explained. “But he followed me, all the way to Greece.”
Hermione held up her left hand and showed everyone a simple gold ring. “He gave me this ring, stating that his love for me was eternal and that he would, if he could, bind ourselves together for all eternity.”
“Of course, you know all of his words were untrue.” Hermione turned back to Draco. “But he made a big mistake.”
Draco’s eyes narrowed. “You did not realize where you said your words and made your promises.” Hermione said gleefully. “Your arrogance was your undoing. Your ignorance of other cultures and beliefs, as they were not part of your pureblood beliefs, was your downfall.”
“I was at the Temple of Artimis where you found me.” Hermione explained as she walked back towards Draco. “She is the Goddess of the Maiden. You tricked one of her subjects with your false words, Draco. You took my virginity on her alter, with promises of forever. She knew you were insincere with your words, but because of your deceit, she decided take your words at face value and bonded us together.”
Draco’s face went white and Narcissa shouted “No!!”
Hermione looked and saw Lucius glance at Draco’s wife.
“I know what you are thinking, Lucius.” Hermione said gleefully. “If I am bonded to Draco, whose child is she carrying. Well, here are a few of potential candidates.” Colored pictures started shooting out of the bottom of the dome. Pictures of Draco’s wife with a variety of men, all with white blond hair.
Hermione summoned a picture into her hand and showed it to everyone. The picture showed a blond-haired man, his hair was slicked back with some of his bangs handing in his face. He was wearing black glasses wearing a black jacket with a white shirt. “He is a male model.” Hermione stated. “Muggle.”
She tossed the picture on the floor and it disappeared. “Your wife is also paying off the doctor. It’s a squib.” Gasps were heard all around.
“Don’t feel sorry for Draco.” Hermione continued, “He was also sleeping around.” Pictures of Draco with other women started shooting out from the dome. The last 10 pictures showed him with women that had brown curly hair. “Interesting choices.” Hermione smirked at him. Draco’s face flushed.
Hermione walked back to the center of the room and used a wand to make a table. It had different objects on it.
“Narcissa. Would you like to see your grandchildren?” Hermione asked. Narcissa nodded slowly.
Hermione smiled, knelt on the ground and held her arms out. Two children ran to her arms. Hermione turned her two children around to face their father and grandparents. She put her hands on the shoulder of the boy. He had white blond short curly hair. He was wearing a white short sleeve button down shirt with navy blue shorts. “This is Orion.” Hermione turned to the girl who also had white blond curly hair but it was long, to her waist. She wore a white sun dress that was to her knees. “This is Artimis.” Both children had Amber eyes and golden skin.
“Wave to your father and grandparents.” Hermione asked gently. Both of them waved, smiling.
“Do you want to show your grandparents what you can do?” Hermione asked.
Both children cried out “Yes!!” as they ran to the table.
Everyone watched as the children lifted feathers, summoned objects, transfigured objects. The girl, Artimis, ran to the front of the table and showed Narcissa how she changed a plain stick into Japanese cherry blossoms. Orion changed a box into a toad. They were doing this all without wands. A frightened murmur was sounding throughout the crowd.
Hermione stood up and told the children to stop.
“Did we do good, Mommy?” Orion asked.
“You both did very well. Hermione said as she hugged both your children. “But we have 2 more things to show them.”
“First the animals.” Hermione asked. Both children started jumping up and down in excitement. They both swung out their right arm and shouted “Expecto Patronum!!” Artimis’ Patronus was a Lion while Orion’s was an Eagle. They flew around the room and ended up dissipating at the front table.
“One more.” Hermione said. Orion and Artimis held out their hands with their palms up and a flame shot up. “Fiendfyre.” Hermione said as she turned her head towards the Malfoys. “Controlled.”
“Aren’t they wonderful, Narcissa!” Hermione stated as she put her arms around both of her children. “Wandless magic and they are not even 5 years old.”
Lucius’ mouth was open in shock. He tried to speak words but was unable. Narcissa now had both hands covering her mouth and Draco looked at his children in wonder.
Lucius cleared his throat and was about to say something when a male voice was heard. “Where are my two favorite children.” In walked a man wearing a gray t-shirt, khaki pants, and a baseball cap.
Draco watched as his children rushed into the man’s arms, very large arms, and a very large man. The man lifted Artimis and tossed her in the air four times. Orion was shouting “My turn.” With his arms up. The man lifted Orion and tossed him in the four times also. When he gently lowered them to the ground, both of them threw their arms around his neck and started kissing his cheeks.
“Hold on. Hold on.” The man laughed as he gently pushed then away. “I got something for you.” Both children stepped back and started clapping their hands.
The man took two packets out of his pocket and sat down. “I saw these at a market. My mother used to buy these for me. Of course, they were only a penny during my time.”
He tore open the packaging, took out the 2 pieces and made it into an airplane. He then tossed it into the air and the children chased it around the room. The man made the other one and gave it to Artimis as Orion caught the one that was in the air.
“What are you doing up so late?” The man asked.
“Mommy had us show what we can do in front of our father and grandparents.” Orion responded.
The man stiffened and started looking around. He saw the faces of all the party goers and stared at the Malfoys at the big table. He got up and walked towards Hermione. The word “Mute” appeared in front of the dinner guests. The man bent down and was saying something into Hermione’s ear, and she nodded. Draco watched as the man’s hand brushed over her hip and quickly squeezed her hand as he walked away from her. The word “Mute” then disappeared.
“Who want’s ice cream before you go to bed?” The man asked. “Me! Me!” The children shouted as they climbed into the man’s arms. With Orion on his shoulders and Artimis on his right hip, the man walked out of the room.
Hermione continued to stare at the direction they walked away in silence. A discreet cough was heard, and Hermione startled and shook her head.
“Okay.” Hermione stated. “Now where were we.”
She walked up to the front table.
“I was never going to tell you about your children.” Hermione said to Draco. “Until I saw the paper that your wife was pregnant. Then was given no choice.”
Hermione walked to Lucius. “You would have announced your heir, go to Gringotts and found out that my children have already claimed their right to their inheritance.”
“What!!!” Lucius bellowed out.
“They are the first-born heirs of a bonded match.” Hermione explained. “Doesn’t matter that we were not officially “married.””
Hermione turned and glared at Draco. “I also cannot take the damn ring off.”
“A representative from Gringotts met me in Switzerland and confirmed the bond. Thus, my children’s claim to the Malfoy inheritance.” Hermione continued. “We just do not have an official contract, in which your family controls the upbringing of my children.”
“I am sorry Professor McGonagall, my children will not be going to Hogwarts…” Hermione said she looked at her former Teacher. “…or any European Magic School.”
“When I left England…” Hermione explained. “…I found myself in a situation in which I saved someone’s life. A very powerful person’s life. They were very grateful and took me to their sovereign country in which magic and non-magic people live in harmony. They offered protection and introduced me to some very powerful people, even those who can do wandless magic. They have been keeping in touch with you all and were the ones who found out about the affairs, pregnancy and the bribing of the doctor.”
Hermione looked at the Minister of Magic. “I have broken no secrecy laws.” Hermione stated. “This country already has people who know about us. They have agreed to put Orion and Artimis into their schools. They will have a basic muggle education and when they are of age and then they will start their training.”
“I have already met their teachers.” Hermione continued. “In fact, the Ancient One, the current Sorcerer Supreme, stated that my children are two of the most powerful wizards she has ever met...”
Draco stood out and shouted, “They are my children too!!”
“Ah, the Sperm Donor speaks.” Hermione said as she smirked. “Do you not remember these headlines?”
Newspaper headlines popped up in front of Hermione. “HERMIONE GRANGER: STALKER”, “DELUSIONAL GOLDEN GIRL” and “DRACO MALFOY SPEAKS OF HERMIONE GRANGER’S OBSESSION WITH HIM” along with a picture of Draco, sitting by his wife, saying in a loop, “I never touched her.”
“So, you now admit you were lying.” Hermione spat out angrily. “I had to leave my country because of you. Friends who thought I betrayed them for getting involved with you and friends who believed your lies. On top of it all, if anyone was obsessed, it was you, Draco. You followed to Greece and when we returned home, you were the one to came into my bed every night.”
“Speaking of which…” Hermione turned to Narcissa. “Narcissa, did you not teach your son anything about sex education?” Narcissa’s face flushed and looked appalled. Draco’s face turned even more red.
“I am sure Lucius gave pointers regarding the actual sex part.” Hermione continued. “But to have sex with someone every night for two months, how could he not know? Other than the appalling lack of sex education in wizard society. My muggle classmates learned about puberty, cycles and pregnancy when we were 9-10 years old.”
“Yes Draco…” Hermione said as she turned back towards Draco. “…you are a powerful wizard. You are also very intelligent. That was what attracted me to you. That is why I fell in love with you. The Malfoy’s have always been powerful. Your family didn’t marry cousins so there is not much inbreeding but for how long Draco? There are not many “Pure Bloods” left. Your wife’s magical core was not substantial enough to even give birth to a half-blood. While I, as a muggleborn, gave birth to twins that could do controlled wandless magic by the time they were three. Again, the Sorcerer Supreme said she has not seen anyone as powerful as our children are for a thousand years. Yet, I am the inferior one.”
Hermione turned her head towards Lucius. “Think about that, Lucius.” As she walked towards him. “I bet it irks you to no end that I, a filthy mudblood, a lesser being, a nobody, conceived with your son, the most powerful witch and wizard seen in a thousand years while your acceptable, pure blood choice of a daughter-in-law could only conceive a Squib.” Lucius started shaking in rage.
“Anyway…” Hermione said flippantly as she walked back to the table and hoisted herself up to sit down. “…all of you humiliated me and had me ostracized in the press. I was fired and thrown out of my flat. Not even any of my friends would take me in. You drove me away from Britain. Though I was heartbroken at the time, I am now glad. For my children will grow up without any of your input or influence.”
Hermione clicked her fingers and the panels started slowly retracting. “There is an American saying.” Hermione said with a smirk. “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. This will be the last you see of me. Goodbye!”
Draco watched as the panels started closing into the center of the dome. He saw the back of a figure of a man, wearing all black holding a mask in his right hand. Hermione glanced up and smiled. The expression on Hermione’s face was one that she would give him when he would arrive at her flat. Draco’s heart clenched painfully.
“No, no, no.” Draco cried as his voice grew louder. Draco rose from his chair and climbed over the table.
“Stop!!” Draco shouted as the dome started to close. He reached towards it but had to move his hand back before it smashed his hand.
Draco removed his wand and started casting spells on it to open but it stayed closed.
“Help me!” Draco cried as he looked around. “I need it to open up again.”
Draco glanced as Kinsley and saw an unfamiliar man standing next to him. He was also wearing African Robes that were blue and a strange necklace of claws around his neck.
The other man said in a musical voice. “As it was opened and closed by the young lady. I do not believe that it could be opened by you.”
Draco’s eyes closed and he felt overwhelming grief. A sound of screaming was heard, and he opened his eyes. An orange circle of flames filled the pathway and started growing until a large circle formed. Two men stepped out in foreign robes, both wearing black masks covering their faces. One of the men shouted. “Everyone stay calm. We are not here to hurt you.”
A red force field came forth through the circle and pushed Draco away from the dome. A few Aurors cast stunning spells against the two men standing outside the circle. They were bounced off.
A tall blonde man strode through the circle. He was wearing all back and had a black mask covering his face. “We do not wish to harm you.” The man said in a commanding voice. “We are just here to collect what belongs to us.”
Draco glared at the man as he approached him. It had to be the same man who was playing with his children and the same man that Hermione looked at with love.
“What if I don’t want to give it up.” Draco snarled.
The man in black, smirked. “Then I am here to claim what is mine.”
“Let me see you try.” Draco spat back.
The man in black smiled. He then bent down and lifted the dome over his head and, placed it on his left shoulder. Draco fell down in shock. The man looked at Draco with contempt, turned and walked back to the large circle, with the red force field retreating behind him. When the man entered the circle, the other two men quickly followed him, and the circle closed behind them. Leaving everyone in silence.
