The thing about Cho's boyfriend dying when she was sixteen was that it defined her life. Even if she suspected that if he had lived they would have broken up in another few months and she would have trouble remembering that they had even dated a decade later, people still acted like he was the love of her life. What's worse is that they expect her to act like it, too. When everyone around her expected her to be miserable, she couldn't help but be miserable. It would have almost been better if they had wanted her suffering. If that was the case, Cho could have spat in their eyes. But, no, no one wanted her misery. It's just that everyone expected it.
Everyone but Luna.
Oh, there were those who said that Luna was too odd or too dumb or too something to know better, but Cho knew the truth: Luna was too kind. So was it any wonder that she was the one person Cho sought to spend time with? Was it any wonder that the time together made Cho curious about what Luna's lips would taste like?
Actually, yes, that was a development that completely surprised Cho.
