The world is weird. Why would God just decided to give human second genders? Is it really necessary? It's burdensome. It's burdensome to be an omega in this messed up society. And that's why Sajou decided to hid his second gender when it's not necessary for other people to know.
His classmates doesn't need to know it. His teachers knew it because it's written in his application and it's fine. As long as they don't say anything about it then Sajou is more than happy to oblige to their demands. And that's long ago. His highschool experience was fine.
He fell in love in highschool. Maybe his time in highschool is more than fine. It was amazing. Kusakabe Hikaru is a gentle, sweet and caring alpha. He was everyone's dream boyfriend but he chose Rihito Sajou. The quite and nerdy omega who rarely talk to another human being unless necessary.
Unnecessary and necessary seems to be Sajou's new favourite words. It describes his life too well.
Everything was going through just fine. Sajou got into the university of his dream and they're maintaining the long-distance relationship better than expected.
That is until Sajou opened his mouth.
They're fighting and Sajou? He keeps crying and sobbing every night, struggling to keep it all together. The pheromones of a distressed omega is apparently so strong that some residents who lives around him starts asking him if he's okay. Like usual Rihito would reply to this kind of question with ; I'm fine and that's it.
That night he tries to calm himself by building a big nest with his extra pillows and futon. It did calm his nerves a little. The nest was comfortable. It's an omega's save place for God's sake of course he'll find it comforting. As he was just about to fall asleep, there's a knock on the door. Rihito expected this.. well, he hasn't been outside of his house for three days after all.
He drag himself out of his nest and went to open the door. Miyamura stares at him and make a face when she saw the little beard he had gained from staying in the house for too long. 72 hours 10 minutes and 47 seconds isn't that long, right?
She had asked him to go out and eat some sushi. .. He relented since he was craving sashimi for a few days now, but never get the chance to eat them because he was busy comforting himself.
"I'm.. I want to take a shower first." He speaks softly, keeping his gaze low like his self-esteem right at the moment. The girl in front of him agreed to his decision immediately. Apparently. . He smells unpleasant? No, that's not it.
"It's not that you stink– it's um– your pheromones!" Pheromones? My pheromones? I guess they're pretty bad since people kept on pointing it out.
"Go take a shower and then we'll got you something to eat! You're all bones now that I look at you closely!" That's right. He had stopped eating real food these past few days. Guess he should listen to her. Sajou quickly went to take a shower and changed into some new clothes. How long had he been wearing that yukata anyways? Not like Sajou will ever know.
They went out and Sajou can only see the sashimi among the other dishes. He can't help it. Miyamura watches him closely and asked a silly question.
"Sajou?" The male omega looked up at his friend and titled his head a little as he was interrupted in the middle of eating his food.
"Sajou.. are you pregnant?" This caught Sajou off guard because as soon as those words left Miyamura's mouth, he starts chocking. Horribly.
After receiving many pats on the back by Miyamura and drinking a lot of water, he finally stopped chocking on his now wasted sashimi.
"What.. what makes you think that?!" He whispered in a surprised tone. The girl shrugs and points at him.
"Well, for one you're mood, two you're eating only sashimi like it's only thing that could keep you sane right now and three.. your scent changed." Sajou's scent changed? What does that mean?
"Don't you know when an omega's pregnant their scent changes to something sweeter than usual? I always thought lavender, ink and the rain scent on you is pretty good but now you just smell something like honey!" Does Sajou's scent really content that much smell? He didn't know that for sure.
"I don't know." When did he had such an unsafe sex? Kusakabe never– ah, wait.
Kusakabe. Did he.. did he knotted Sajou on accident?!
"I– I need a pregnancy test. We need a pregnancy test. Let's buy it." Sajou is panicking. If he's carrying a baby then who? Who will be their father? What will his own father think of him? Getting pregnant by his now.. ex-fiance? Sajou doesn't really know.
He knows that Kusakabe gave him the ring. He knows that he messed up badly this time. He knows that Kusakabe might never forgive him. But he doesn't know what will happen if his child grow up without a father.
Like he did.
Mr. Sajou. He's still alive, yes, but..
Sajou's father is always busy. He work overseas almost all the time and left him all alone with his mother. He loves his mother very much but he always wonder how does it feels like to have a father's love? A father's affection? He looks at his boy classmates and their dads. They're always bonding and laughing. Their dads are superheroes to them. What is Sajou's father to him? A bastard? A stranger? That's probably correct.
That man never really exist in his childhood. Only his mom cared about him. He raises his hand and insulted Rihito many times. Every time he did a mistake he would be really upset and disappointed in Rihito. Guilt tripping him into thinking it's all his fault that he was born into this world to be his son. The son of a bastard that wanted nothing but perfection from a fragile human like Rihito. Rihito hated him with burning passion but also loved him. How can he ever explain this to someone? Will they ever understand his feelings?
Rihito doesn't want that to happen to his child if Miyamura's right about him being pregnant with one. He'll search for a father figure for his child if Kusakabe can't accept it. He doubt Kusakabe could ever do that though. With his soft heart? Never. But really. Rihito is not in the right mind so he's thinking about all of the worse possible outcomes.
They paid for the food and went to the nearest pharmacy to grab a few pregnancy tests.
"Please pay for me." Rihito begged and Miyamura could only sigh in defeat as she pays for the pregnancy tests for her beloved shy friend.
"Thank you." Rihito said almost as if it was a whisper, a blush tinted on both of his cheeks.
"Aw, come on! It's fine. I don't mind paying for you as long as you'll choose me as your baby's godmother!" She joked and Rihito could only blush and murmurs soft insults towards Miyamura.
They finally arrived back at Sajou's house and he apologize again for the mess. He didn't have any time to clean it up earlier since he was in such a rush to go out to eat sashimi with Miyamura. He left for the bathroom with the pregnancy tests they bought and stares at them for a moment.
And blushes. How is he going to do this? Just piss on it? That's it? Pregnancy tests are so weird. Rihito hate this.
He shakes his head violently and groan. Now is not the time to think about such trivial matter. Not the time to think about how pregnancy tests works. Not at all!
He finally did all the pregnancy tests and wait silently on the toilet.
"You still in there?" Miyamura's voice came from the other side and surprised Rihito.
"Um, yes! Waiting. I'm waiting for the results.. so could you.." the girl's laughter could be heard outside of the bathroom. She's laughing at Sajou for being shy? Seriously? Ugh.
After a few long moments of silent, Sajou finally have the results of all the tests. Gosh. They're all positive. He's with child.
He got out of the bathroom, tears in his eyes.
"Miyamura." He called out weakly and the girl came and hugged him tightly.
"It's a positive, huh?" Sajou gave her a curt nod and put his head on her shoulder. What is he supposed to do now?
Then Sajou starts vibrating. This startled both Sajou and Miyamura.
"That must be your boyfriend from Tokyo!" She said and Sajou could only widened his eyes and immediately answered the call.
"Hello?" He greeted, his voice hoarse because all of the crying from earlier. Miyamura could only look at him in confusion as he fell into complete silence.
. . .
"What?" Came out of Rihito's mouth.
