Chapter Text
“I’m sorry?” Katsuki blurted out in the conference room he was seated in. Eijirou was sat next to him with the same shell-shocked expression on his face as Katsuki.
“You two need to act as the most in-love newly weds to exist, to ensure the success of this mission. The two of you already have a great chemistry, having been in high school together. For this mission you cannot reveal your identities as pro heroes. You are to infiltrate the organization and retrieve the information we need to take them down. You’re dismissed.” The commissioner repeated himself.
Katsuki and Eijirou said nothing as they got up from their seats and walked out of the conference room. When they reached the lobby of the building, a handful of assistants and sidekicks, gave them a rundown of where their soon-to-depart plane was heading and what to expect when they got to a Miami holiday resort for their “honeymoon”. They were handed a pair of gold wedding rings and were sent off.
The plane ride was long and awkward. When they landed, they were about to check in when Eijirou took Katsuki’s hand in his. Katsuki startled and Eijirou leaned in and whispered in his ear, “We’re married, remember? We’re supposed to be grossly in love,” as they walked to the check in desk.
“Name?” The unenthusiastic clerk voiced as they stood in front of the small man.
“Katsuki and Eijirou Kirishima.” Eijirou said as they both watched the guy look over a long list of names. He then hands them a key to a honeymoon suite and gives them a curt congratulations as they walk off with their luggage.
Katsuki was really trying his best to not sulk on his way to the suite. If he didn’t look the slightest bit in love, he could compromise the entire mission. It’s a dangerous mission and it needs to go smoothly. The resort holds a function every weekend to celebrate any newly weds who held their honeymoon there. The resort was specifically designed to house newly weds. It was why the place had such good reviews and it’s why they’re there in the first place. The son of the head of the organization they were to infiltrate, just got married.
They could have just been two bros on vacation and joining to celebrate because everyone is obliged to, but if they were also newly weds, it would bring them a step closer. If they got close to the other couple, they got close to the father, their mission.
Once they got to the suite, Katsuki rolled his suitcase over to the dresser and claimed the top half. He unpacked his clothes quickly and moved to the bathroom to unpack all his toiletries. When he went back to the bedroom, wanting to talk to Eijirou about their schedules, he was met with the bed. The singular king-sized bed he was supposed to share. And there was no couch big enough for someone to sleep on.
“This is going to be fun,” Katsuki mumbled as he fell onto the bed.
“Don’t worry, I don’t snore. You’ll sleep like a princess,” Eijirou piped up as he finished his unpacking and sat down next to Katsuki. Katsuki wants to be offended, but he’s trying too hard to hide the blush creeping up his neck. You see, Katsuki has been harboring feelings for the redhead ever since they graduated as heroes. He’s so gay for the dumb brute and he doesn’t know how to express it. But pretending to be platonic, seemed to do the job perfectly well.
“Tomorrow night is the celebration. We need to attract attention to ourselves, but also stay on the downlow. We only have until next Sunday to finish this, and we need to do it properly. If we screw this up-” Katsuki rambled on.
“Don’t worry your pretty head over this. Let’s just rest. The mission only starts tonight at the first dinner,” Eijirou finished with a quick yawn, and said, “I’m going to take a nap, you’re free to join me, if you'd like."
Eijirou fell asleep minutes later, and Katsuki was left alone with his own brain. He paces back and forth in the kitchen, going over the schedules again and again. Every day there were three meals served in the great hall for all the guests to enjoy. It would be ideal for them to be noticed tonight, since they arrived just after the lunch servings.
After about half an hour of pacing, Katsuki’s jet lag finally catches up to him. He walks over to the room where Eijirou is facing the middle of the bed, sleeping on his side. Katsuki quietly slides onto the bed on his side, his back facing Eijirou as he gets comfortable. Everything would have been fine if Katsuki was lying just a bit closer to the edge.
Eijirou’s hand snaked over his waist and with a single tug, Katsuki was flush against Eijirou’s chest. It was a problem and he felt like he should escape, but it was also warm. It was comfortable and it made his heart flutter.
Maybe he could indulge his feelings and pretend that Eijirou actually loves him back. That Eijirou wants this to be as real as he does. Katsuki goes to sleep with a small smile on his face. Maybe he can show his true feelings for Eijiro. For the mission of course. Just to make it more believable.
