The Fix featuring Patrick Jane

Summary:

Based off of a Robin Tunney tweet, a comically-short quick one shot of how The Fix would have went if Patrick Jane was involved. Big The Fix spoilers.

Work Text:

Sevvy Johnson had killed again. Maya was sure of it. So sure in fact, she had returned to the life she had left behind to prove it, but this time, she would be successful in ensuring he paid for his crime.

Through contacts with the Feds, she secured an asset that would make things different this time. The FBI’s secret weapon. A man by the name of Patrick Jane.

As they descended on the Johnson precinct, search warrant in hand, Maya’s heart thumped. They stormed the compound, an army of uniforms searching for anything and everything.

The blonde-haired Patrick Jane in his three-piece suit wandered around the hallways, hands joined behind his back, quietly observing. He had arrived this morning, gone through their case files, and had been briefed on the situation to date.

“Ms Travis?” he called out cautiously, summoning her towards him.

“What is it?” she asked.

“Yeah. Sevvy didn’t do this. Sorry. It was the kid, Gabe. You’ll find him driving out to find somewhere to bury some evidence, probably somewhere nostalgic, like where he went camping as a child. If you’re quick, you’ll definitely catch him.”

“Wait, what. Really?” Maya asked incredulously.

“Yeah, I suspect he received something damning from the family trust when he turned 21 not long ago. Also, you have a mole in your office, someone told Ezra you were coming with the search warrant. My best bet is that Loni girl, she’s not happy you’ve moved in on your turf.”

“Loni? A mole?”

“Yeah, oh and Gabe’s mother though and that other woman, pretty sure Sevvy did those ones. So yeah that sucks, double jeopardy and all. Maybe you could leverage a confession? I could help with that. Listen, are you big on following the law, or are you okay with bending it a smidge?”

“Laws weren’t made to be bent,” Maya said warningly back.

“Then I’m of no more use to you,” he replied. “Could I go get lunch? I’m starving. I could really go a sandwich. Good luck with it all.”
