Notes:

I felt really inspired one fine morning to write a story revolving around Suna falling in love with someone because I find him to be an interesting character. But, I'm still nervous to post this because I'm scared that it might be out of character but in the end, I said screw it so here is it. I hope you guys enjoy (or try to lol) and let me know what you think!!! :)

Chapter Text

Suna was a normal guy with above-average looks. He didn't particularly like to socialize. His best friend, Takeo now has a girlfriend that he deserves. Yamato was really sweet and Suna liked her. But now that Takeo has a girlfriend, Suna was tired of getting asked if he was lonely. He really wasn't. He was just an introvert and preferred not to delve too much in other people's conversations and dramas. He can also live without a girlfriend because it’s troublesome. He can happily live without one.

It was another normal day in class where the teacher was lecturing like usual while he blankly stared out the window. He was somewhat bored; however, he definitely wasn't lonely, he just simply opts to be alone. Suddenly, there was a knock on the classroom door.

"Come in." The teacher said, annoyed she was interrupted midway.

As the door slid open, there were loud squeals from girls. A lot of the girls were whispering, "oh my god, he's so hot", or something along those lines. The boys also looked somewhat astonished. He did admit the transfer student was good looking but he wasn't the type to drool and flaunt over him.
"Sshhh. Quiet down class. The new student is going to introduce himself." The teacher responded sternly to the class's reaction.
The class immediately quieted down.
The black-haired boy walked to the middle of class in the front and said, "My name is Takashi Hiro. I moved from Sendai. It's nice to meet you all." With that, he bowed his head.

(This is how I envision Hiro to look like but use your imagination and visualize your own version if you'd like.)

"Alright Hiro, there's an open seat behind Yamada; raise your hand, Yamada." Yamada raised her hand, with a slight blush on her cheeks. "You'll sit in the open seat behind her." The teacher replied. Hiro obliged and walked to his seat. Suna glanced at him as he sat down. His desk was right next to Suna.

Hiro silently took out his school accessories and began taking notes of the lecture. Time went by extremely slowly today or so Suna thought. After the bell rang for school dismissal, Hiro hurriedly grabbed his belongings and left, not waiting to talk to his new classmates.

A few seconds later, Takeo gently smacked his shoulders and asked, "Want to go to the picnic bench? Yamato will be there too and she wants you to come." Since he had nothing better to do, he obliged to Takeo's request.

He enjoyed the picnic. The bento that Yamato made was delicious like usual. He then left the two of them so they can have some alone time.

When he went home, he read a bunch of books. Nothing out of the ordinary.
The next day, he went to school and noticed that Hiro was there already. The guy was on his phone, vigorously texting someone from what it looked like. Suna went to sit down on his desk, looking out the window. There was nothing happening. Needless to say, he was bored.

During lunch, the new voice asked him, "You seem lonely." The accusation held no malice but Suna was tired of hearing it.
"I'm not." He simply replied to the new student.
Hiro stared at him, calculating whether he should continue the conversation since Suna clearly didn't seem to want to talk to him. After a little staredown, Suna noticed how brown his eyes were, they were exquisite but quickly shook it off.

Then, Hiro finally decided to break the silence, “Sorry I didn’t mean to offend you, I was just wondering if you can show me around the cafeteria, I really want an ice-cream right now.” He paused a bit then continued, “But of course, it’s fine if you don’t want to.” With that, Suna sighed. He had nothing better to do anyway since Takeo was surrounded by dudes complimenting his muscles and whatnot.

“I’ll show you around.” He flatly replied. “Thanks.” Hiro smiled a little. “No problem.” Suna got out of the chair and started to walk. He didn’t realized how tall Hiro was until he stood next to him. He was about a couple of inches taller than him. Suna lead the way while Hiro quietly followed but the silence was soon broken.

"You're actually a nice guy huh?" Hiro asked although it sounded more of a statement.

"I guess." Suna simply replied as he continued to walk down to the cafeteria where the vending machines were.

Then he stopped and pointed at the ice cream vending machine, "There it is".

"Ah." Hiro responded as he walked up to the machine and stuck yen into it. A few seconds later, he was munching on an ice-cream sandwich. "These..er..tha..bst." Hiro explained between every bite.

To Hiro's utter shock, Suna began to laugh in a faint manner by covering his mouth. That was definitely not the reaction he was expecting.

"Dude, you're so funny." Suna said between breaths.

Hiro felt a blush silently creep onto his cheeks but luckily he completely subdued it away. "Thanks...I guess." He replied, bashfully.

Suna didn't seem to notice thankfully but rather he announced, "Let's head back."

"Ok." Hiro answered.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next couple of days, Hiro continually asked Suna for an extra pencil as he kept losing them. Suna got annoyed after a while but lent him more, nonetheless.

After school when Suna was about to leave, Hiro almost tackled him then slung his hand around his shoulder while an irritated Suna replied with, "Dude, personal space."

"Sorry." Hiro answered apologetically.

Suna sighed, "It's fine, man. Did you want something?"

"Well I was wondering, if you are busy tomorrow?"

"Not really. Why?" Takeo already told him that he is going to hang out with Yamato the whole day since it’s a Saturday. So, he had no plans.

"I was wondering if you would want to go hang out somewhere. I'm bored just staying at home."

"Why don't you ask someone else from class? I'm sure they'd love to have you."

"No it's not the same, they all just care about my looks, you see past that. Come on, pleaseeee." Hiro whined.

Suna sighed loudly, "Alright fine, but where?"

"Ummm, how about meet me at the amusement park at 11am?” He asked.

“Ok.”

“Really?? That was easy. Thanks, man.” Hiro playfully smacked Suna’s shoulder.

“Right, I’ll see you then.” Suna was about to turn and walk away when Hiro exclaimed, “Wait!! Can you give me your number just in case we can’t find each other tomorrow?” Just like that, they both exchanged numbers and became friends or at least Hiro thought so. He wasn’t sure if Suna considered him a friend yet.

The next day, he got out of bed and quickly changed to meet Suna in the amusement park. He went to the main entrance and Suna was already waiting for him since he was so noticeable among the people because of his good looks. But, Hiro was grateful he didn’t have to call Suna to ask where he was.

“Hey Suna!” He waved, cheerfully.

“You ready?”

“You bet. Let’s get going.”

Hiro was so grateful that Suna wasn’t afraid of rollercoasters and they both went on all the giant roller coasters. Hiro tried to hold his scream but unfortunately, a small yelp escaped him then he gave up and ended up screaming whereas Suna seemed almost unfazed by the coaster nor did he ever scream.
“Are you a robot? You are so bold, man.” Squinting his eyes, Hiro questioned his friend.

Suna judgingly glared at him.

It was the first time that Hiro had so much fun in months. He felt so overwhelmed with emotions but Suna didn’t seem to understand how thankful he was for today. They grabbed something to eat in the amusement park and were about to leave since the sun was about to set, but a hand grabbed around Suna’s wrist.

Suna turned to face Hiro and waited for him to speak. Suna could tell something was wrong.

“Suna...I jus-...thank you for today.” Hiro stammered, embarrassed.

“Yeah, no problem.” Suna answered, impassive like usual. But, for a second, Hiro could’ve swore he saw a faint smile.

“Let’s head home,” Hiro said.

“Yeah,” Suna approved.
