Moroha stretched and let out a long yawn. She, along with Towa and Setsuna, had gone on a demon-hunting excursion that kept her away from home for a week. The thought of having one made her blush with happiness. She could see their house now, where she lived with her parents.
Again, the thought felt almost too good to be true. As she grew closer, she could see a red figure sitting nearby in the grass, and upon further inspection, she discovered it was Inuyasha. Moroha hurried a little, pushing her tiredness away for a moment. "Dad!" She called out. She watched as his head turned towards her, his ears twitching and his face breaking into a sweet smile.
"Finally back, huh? How'd it go?" He asked her while she took a spot beside him. She matched his smile with her own.
"Great! I'm Moroha, the demon hunter, after all! No demon can get past me!" She boasted.
"Good point!" Inuyasha said with a laugh before they fell into a comfortable silence. "Is everything okay?" He asked with worry. Moroha nodded.
"Just tired." She said with another yawn.
"Why don't you go rest in the house then?" He suggested. Her face flushed a bit, giving her cheeks a soft pink color.
"Can I ask you something, dad?"
"You can ask me anything, Moroha." He said with a sincere voice.
"It's just, um, well, a little embarrassing..."
"Now I'm intrigued!"
"Can you, uhhhhh, h-hold me?" She blushed harder. "Just for a little while!" She quickly said. Inuyasha wasn't sure what he expected her to say, but it wasn't that.
"Of course." He said with a gentle smile on his face. Moroha scooted closer and climbed on his lap, laying her head against him and closing her eyes. His larger arms went around her with one supporting her lower back while the other was on the side of her head, lightly holding it against his shoulder.
They sat there for a few minutes before Inuyasha started to ask her if she felt better, but then he heard her quietly snoring. 'Did she seriously fall asleep?!' He asked himself in surprise but couldn't deny how wonderful this felt. His heart fluttered, and his eyes stung with tears before he held her closer.

Kagome walked with a chipperness in her step. She was carrying a basket of ingredients for dinner. It was strange how something so simple could make her feel like she could fly. Their house came into view, so she hurried her pace, anxious to see her family again. She saw her husband sitting in the grass.
She thought about calling out, but as she got closer, the sight made her stop in her tracks. Inuyasha sat on the grass, looking out on the horizon with a peaceful expression, his silver hair softly blowing in the wind. On his lap was their daughter fast asleep, safely wrapped in his arms. She walked up to them as quietly as she could.
"You know I hear you, right?" Inuyasha stated, and a small ear wiggled. Kagome laughed with a bit of guilt for getting caught.
"Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking." She sat next to them.
"What's in the basket?" He asked with curiosity.
"Oh, that's for dinner tonight!" He nodded in understanding. "How long have you been like this?"
"Huh? Ah, you mean with Moroha... About thirty minutes, I think. I wasn't expecting her to just pass out like this, though! Now I'm scared to move her!" Kagome giggled happily at the thought that he sat in this spot that long just so he didn't disturb their daughter.
"If you're careful, maybe you carry her inside?" She suggested. Inuyasha mulled it over.
"Huh, not a bad idea..." He mumbled to himself.
"Yeah, I have them sometimes!" She said with sarcastic chagrin. He gently adjusted how he was holding her before slowly standing up. Thankfully, it didn't disturb her. After they walked inside, Kagome went to the kitchen to begin the preparations for dinner while Inuyasha tucked Moroha into her futon and brushed some loose hair out of her eyes.
"It's still hard to believe, isn't it?" Inuyasha observed when he joined his wife in the kitchen.
"Yeah. I'm scared this is all just a wonderful dream, and I'll wake up back inside that pearl." Kagome said in a quiet voice. His arms went around her shoulders from behind. She leaned back against him and let out a sigh of contentment.
"Me too." He whispered in her ear.
