Work Text:
Arlecchino was enraged.
Rosalyne had been given a second chance by the Fatui, and she had paid them back by serving the Tsaritsa herself. But this heartless organization acknowledges her efforts by playing her right into the Raiden Shogun’s bloodstained hands. Pierro could never hope to understand the anguish she felt after losing her dearest companion to his unscrupulous methods.
Perhaps this was the tragic story of a knave mourning her fair lady. And perhaps the knave was a fool for trying to deceive the queen. Fatui means fool after all.
Standing before Rosalyne’s coffin, Arlecchino could see right through the Fatui’s goodwill. The other harbingers donned their false masks of sadness and grief, and the lavish ceremony was just a show of the Tsaritsa’s wealth and power.
The knave wishes she could weep for her fair lady.
But in the icy lands of Snezhnaya, one does not shed tears.
