Chapter Text

Numbness. There should be pain there, but there isn’t. There should be an arm as well, but that also isn’t there. There’s nothing. It’s kind of the point.

She wonders how the monsters outside are reacting to this. Confused, maybe? Befuddled? A part of her hopes they know what’s coming and are scared, but the rational part of her knows that’s not likely.

The rational part of her is not, however, in control right now. It’s currently busying itself with less important details.

Like her hair. It’s free and flowing, now; she usually likes keeping it in a bun. It’ll be harder to do that now, with only one arm.

She briefly, calmly, wonders if she might be going into shock. She doesn’t think she is. She feels pretty calm.

She then wonders if she might already be in shock.

There’s a buzzing. They’re done. It’ll be soon now, and the bees around her will disperse. They won’t be protecting their queen anymore.

Angelitas inglesas, was their name. It meant something in the old language her family spoke sometimes, her abuela had told her about them before. She should probably start listening sometime soon.

But it didn’t matter now.

She glanced down, to her dress. Pretty pastel colors, now stained. Hopefully they would recover. She’d seen girls like that before, glowing limbs made of magic where the old ones used to be. She could live with having a rainbow-colored arm. But that would come later.

Now, she spread her wings, and the hive around her dispersed as she floated into the sky. Multicolored pollen filled the street, a mist that covered everything in its path, stopping it in its tracks. The monsters now could only watch; hopefully, they could feel fear.

Angelitas inglesas. Angel bees.

Not usually a dangerous species. They didn’t even sting. They only protected and made hives, and they would make hives out of anything, so long as the queen wished for it.

Magical Girl Angel Queen looked down at the monsters, and wished for a new hive.

She wondered how long the monsters might resist her soldiers. And by the time that thought finished, it didn’t matter anymore.
