"Hmm…"
Sitting in a lonely bench in an equally lonely park, the You Showlings sighed with sadness
"Why so sad, little ones?" Yukito asked with concerned as he appeared from the shadows, looking at the honorary batch of hatchlings who were sitting all alone
"Isn’t it Halloween night? Shouldn’t you be out there, collecting treats and performing tricks?"
"We can’t. Some jerks took away our candy" Ayu explained with both anger and sadness
"They said our costumes were pathetic” Tatsuya followed, equally sad as his friend
"T-They insulted my costume that Mama spent hours creating just for me" Futoshi sniffed, big fat tears going down his chubby cheeks
Yukito saw the kids costumes, and saw nothing bad or ‘pathetic' with them
Ayu was dressed as a nurse, Tatsuya as an astronaut, and Futoshi as a piece of cheese
"Well, those bullies are truly foolish" Yukito said comfortingly, taking off his hat and crouching down to the kids eye level
"For me, you’re a dedicated nurse that saved lives, you’re the bravest astronaut that has explored the vast cosmos, and you are the most delicious cheese I had ever seen"
That made the kids feel better, but they still felt bad that the candy they had worked so hard all night has been taken away from them
Hatching an evil plan, Yukito smirked darkly
"Tell you what, sweetlings" Yukito purred, "Why don’t we show those nasty bullies a lesson?"
"A lesson? How?" Tatsuya innocently asked, and Yukito winked at him
"How else, dear Tatsuya~?” He said ominously
" With a little magic, of course~"
In another park, two snotty laughs coming from two brats could be heard as they unloaded their loot taken from other children
“Aww man, this was too easy" One of the bullies boasted, taking a pair of stolen gummies and loudly eating them
"Yeah, those You Show brats were an easy target” The other bully said, looking with greed at the batch of candy they had stolen from the kids, "It was like taking candy away from a pathetic bunch of babies"
As the bullies continued to laugh haughtily as they devoured their stolen loot, they heard a strange noise not to far from where they were
"What was that?” The first bully said, but the other shrugged lazily
"How should I know? Go check it out” He said as he continued to stuff his mouth with a candy bar
"How come I’m the one that always checks things out? Ugh” The bully begrudgingly went to the bushes from when the sound originated
"It’s probably just some cat or something” He tried to reassure himself, "Hey buddy, knock it off. Those kind of tricks don’t scare me”
But the bushes continued to rustle louder, and as the bully went to give one final cheek, the thing that was hiding behind them finally sprung out
And it was the stuff of nightmares
It looked like a girl, even though its skin was peeling off and the bully could see the boney flesh underneath
Half of the creature’s face was a rotting green that was barely keeping itself together, while the other has completely rotted off and the bully could see its grey uncovered skull
It had dirty red hair like if it were blood, a crooked nurse hat with a matching nurse outfit that had been reduced to rags and that the bully could see the creature’s exposed grey ribcage
“AHHH!!!" The bully screamed in shock and terror as he fell to his butt, while the creature’s creepy smile enlarged
"Oh~, why did you screamed? Are you in some sort of pain?” The creature asked in her gloomy voice, that didn’t matched with her off putting smile
"Don’t worry, dear patient. All you need is a little shot and everything will be over~" The creature took out a threateningly sharp vaccine from seemingly out of nowhere, grabbing it like if it were a knife
Screaming in fear, the bully ran away from there before the creature could stab him, its unhinged giggling still filling his ears no matter how fast he ran
"What’s gotten into you?" the other bully asked his out of breath friend once he finally managed to reach him
The frightened bully stammered what he had just witnessed, but his companion couldn’t understand anything he said
"What? Talk more clearly, you idiot—" Before the bully could finish his insult, a bright light blinded them both for a moment before another creature appeared before them
It had a mutated space suit with dangerous cables and wires connected all over its body and a dark goop-like substance coming out from them that looked oddly reminiscent of blood
Instead of a head, it had a massive eyeball the color of blood who bored into their petrified souls
"Recognized: Organic Organisms” The creature said with a cold distorted voice as it slowly, too slowly, walked towards them
Almost like if all the cables that were connected to its body was dragging it down, forcing the creature to eerily limp towards them
"Organic Organisms, surrender, surrender, surrender…” The creature repeated that word like a broken record, and as its spurted goopy tentacles out from its mutated body, the bullies screamed once again as they ran away from there, taking what they could from their loot
"Eat me~, eat me~" However, their hopes of escaping were diminished when the bullies heard a grossly cheerful voice
They both gasped in horror when they saw a huge rotten cheese slowly jumping to their direction
Completely covered in disgusting green moss, with horrifyingly realistic maggots, worms and flies crawling out from its putrid holes as a rancid smell invaded the bullies’ noses
"I’m a delicious cheese filled with vitamins and proteins that are good for your bodies!" The cheese said with its disgusting voice, not noticing the state it had
The bullies screamed in fear as they ran away from the park all together, yelling for their moms as they completely forgot of their stolen loot
Once the bullies were gone, the three monsters giggled happily as a red smoke evaporated away from them
Revealing them to actually be Ayu, Tatsuya and Futoshi who had been disguised thanks to Yukito’s illusion magic
The aforementioned magician came out from the shadows, clapping with delight at the wonderful show the kiddies had just performed
"Splendid job, my little imps" Yukito praised, "You showed those bullies a lesson that they will never forget. Now they will think it twice before ever stealing the candy from any other innocent child ever again"
"Yay! We got our candy back!" Futoshi cheered as he hugged his massive candy bag with happiness
"We should also give them all back to their owners" Tatsuya suggested, and his friends agreed
Yukito looked at all of them warmly before he prepared himself to return to the darkness, before Ayu’s little hand stopped him
“Yukito-nii, there’s still some houses who are giving candy, and we still have to give this bags back to their kids, y’know…" Ayu said with a cute voice
"Yeah! How about you join us for trick or treating? The night’s still young, after all" Tatsuya suggested with a big smile, surprising Yukito slightly before he smiled fondly
"If you so desire, it will be my pleasure" Yukito said in his ever dramatic flare, grabbing his head and positioning it right on his heart while bowing, making the little imps giggle
"Yukito-nii, can you use your magic again? I bet it will give everyone the shivers!” Futoshi pleaded with those big puppy eyes of his, and Yukito chuckled darkly
“As you wish, little devil~” Snapping his fingers, red smoke once again covered the kiddies giving them tamer versions of their monstrous selves
The kids cheered, eating candy and grabbing the gentle hand of darkness from the Magician of Fear himself
For behind every fear, was the most wonderful dream
