Work Text:
Falling, but no wind whipping at her face. No tempest howling in her ears.
Falling, and yet there is no sky. There is no ground. Nowhere to go.
She feels a hand take hers, glancing up. He is floating there. He is falling too. Isn’t he scared?
She wonders. He smiles at her, and a bubbly warmth takes root in her chest, and she resists the urge to turn away from him as the blush creeps up her face. He lets go, and pushes off from her, sending them both slowly spinning in opposite directions.
He pushes off of the wall, once more gliding towards her. She bumps against a wall, and pushes off towards him. Sailing to the center.
Looking up towards him, she drinks in the sight of his face, haloed in the softened light of the sun. A smile curls the corners of her mouth upwards.
Both reaching outwards.
Their hands touch, and he pulls them together, spinning. He sees her smile, and his mind stops. Struck dumb by her beauty. Unsure of all but a single thing.
He was falling in love.
He just hoped that she loved him too.
And by god, does he hope he knows how to.
