It was a quiet night at the base and you were just reading another book that Felix gave to you to study from, you were very into it until you heard your door open, you knew it was Sage by his usual way of never knocking when coming in.,
you looked up from your book and looked at Sage “What are you doing here Sage?”, “Just checking up on you no other reason ya know.” you didn't buy it and gave him a look of disapproval, he sight and came to sit next to you on your bed and just put his head on your shoulder while his tail spun around your leg and then you two just sat there in silence until Sage broke it
“Ya know, does this whole situation not frighten you?”.....“like how can you be so calm after all of this..” you weren’t too shocked because he has asked you that before but a little differently. “ It does frighten me a little but I know you are here for me so I don't really concentrate on the bad parts, I just focus on making it out alive and that neither you or I get hurt.”
“But how can you be sure that none of us die from it? What if we go on that mission and I lose you?”. “You won’t lose me and I won't lose you, okay? We are always there for each other, you know, that’s what friends are for.” “But what if I don't want to be just friends?” Sage said with a whisper that you wouldn't have heard if it wasn’t that quiet, you were in shock,
you never expected the flirty Sage to have a crush on you, You were quiet for a while until you asked Sage “Do you actually mean that?” Sage was shocked that you had heard him so he quickly sat up and looked at you with surprise, he relaxed a bit and said “ I do mean that and i’m very serious.” “We have been through a lot so it was quite impossible to not fall in love with you.”
“No one so far has shown me so much love and care like you have and I just don’t know what to do about it more than worry that I'll lose you one day or you will leave me because of my bloodthirst.” you had to stop him from speaking too much and hurt you by saying mean things about himself that you didn't like, so you shut him up with a kiss,
Sage was shocked but kissed you back, it felt like forever when you finally stopped sucking each others faces off, when you did stop you told him “You dumbass i love you too and don’t say such things about yourself and please don’t worry so much, i'll always be here you can't get rid of me so easily.” After finishing you smiled at Sage and decided to hold his hand which Sage held onto like a lifeline and asked you “Are you sure?” “Yes dumbass, I would not lie about this.” you looked at him and rolled your eyes at him, he laughed and put his forehead against yours and smiled, “I know but i wanted to be sure.” he said while laughing a little
The whole moment was nice if it wasn't like 2am in the morning, so after the beautiful moment you suggested that you both go to bed,
Sage was happy to stay there with you, and after you two changed your clothes and went to bed you immediately went to Sages arms and enjoyed the warmth he has you were sure to fall asleep fast thanks to that, and when you were close to falling asleep you heard Sage whisper that he loves you and kissed your forehead before deciding to fall asleep as well, you smiled to yourself and whispered it back and finally felt at peace until the morning when you have to go to that awful mission and hope for the best.
