Realization courses through Izuna's entire body as he watches Senju Hashirama fall from a mortal blow to the ground.
He watches from above as Hashirama's life slips away.
He waited, and after a while, just to make sure, he lifted his foot and kicked Hashirama, right in the face. He kicked once, twice, three times, increasing intensity with each kick. When it's clear the scum death is definitive, that he was not between the lives anymore, Izuna stops, breathing hard, and then he smiles and finally laughs.
Izuna faced various Senjus, killed various Senjus, but no other kill left him so happy, so ecstatic.
Senju Hashirama fights (fought, he was not going to do that anymore) against Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Madara fights against Senju Hashirama. They were friends, or something else. They were each other's rival, each other's greatest enemy. No one proclaimed that, it just happened naturally. With that, Senju Tobirama was Uchiha Izuna's greatest enemy. Or that's what common sense thought.
It was easy to deal with Tobirama. Izuna would never admit it, but they had a lot in common, and it was easy to identify with the mutual hatred they felt for each other's clan.
But Senju Hashirama…
Depth in Izuna's entrails, more than Senju Tobirama, Izuna hated Senju Hashirama. Even though he wasn't around, Senju Hashirama still managed to find a way to mess with his brother's mind, corrupting him and making him sick.
Always looking sad for having to fight against Madara, but never hesitating to strike blows, never hesitating to hurt Madara. It made Izuna feel furious.
Senju Hashirama was his real greatest enemy, and when Izuna kills him, it feels cathartic.
I did it, I did it, I did it. Izuna repeats.

Izuna is still laughing when Madara finds him.
The laughs stop momentarily and Izuna looks at his older brother, eyes shining, a huge smile on his face. Izuna almost feels like the kid someday he was. He is happy, so so happy, and he wants his brother to feel happy too.
Madara looks at him, then looks at the scum's corpse, under Izuna's feet. He looks shocked, and then something Izuna doesn't understand, just knows he's not happy.
Izuna's happiness ends, as if was never been there. There's not a smile on his face anymore, and he doesn't feel cathartic.
Madara looks at him again, and the two brothers face each other with no expression.
Then finally something — and it's true pain explicit on Izuna's older brother's face.
Izuna wants to say something, ask a lot of things, like for example, why is his brother looking at him like he committed a horrendous crime. But he doesn't say anything, he doesn't ask anything, because he hears his brother's broken voice saying:
"Izuna…what have you done?"
Madara starts crying, and runs into Izuna's direction. Then Izuna is abruptly pushed to the ground, and lands right next to Hashirama's corpse.
Madara doesn't hug him. Madara hugs the scum's corpse, and cries so loudly that Izuna wants to cover his ears and block out the pitiful sounds.
Why are you crying? Izuna wants to ask, but he doesn't, because he already knows the answer.
Hashirama wasn't the only one Izuna killed. In the act, Izuna also killed his older brother.
