Link woke up to the bright outside greeting him in South Akkala Stable’s soft bed. That bed was worth it. Sure, the total cost was 80 rupees for both Him and Zelda, but it was worth it.
Link sat up in his bed and- Wait.
That's not his hands.
He brings these hands up to his eye level.
This isn’t him.
He looks around to where the other bed is and he sees himself.
Is he dreaming?? And if he’s there…
“Ah, Good Morning!” a voice beckoned.
Link turned his(?) head to see Dmitiri, the stable keeper.
“Woah, you look a bit shaken up, Princess! Everything alright?”
Before he could process that this was actually happening, he heard a groan that sounded like his voice.
Link turned to where that noise came from and saw himself wake up.
And then he saw himself turn wide-eyed.
“It’s me, Link.” He signed. The wide-eyed expression faded a little.
He then turned to Dmitri; “Thank you.”
“No problem!”
He nodded at him with a smile and turned back to look at himself, who was now sat up in the bed, looking awry.
He lightly tapped (what he assumed was Zelda in his body) on the shoulder, which got her attention.
“Zelda?” he signed, And she nodded.
Alright, well that confirms that.
“Should we go outside?” He signed to her. Zelda nodded.
So, they went out and around to the back of the Stable,
And they just sat for a second in silence. Neither of them knew what was going on; they just woke up as each other with no warning.
They didn’t want to be each other, they wanted to be themselves. They knew things would be different after they saved Hyrule, but not like this.
