CPR

Summary:

Vi brings Cait to a hotel so that she can take some much needed time to relax (completely plationically of course). Cait finally gets fed up of Vi's flirting and not doing anything so she decides to do something about it.

Notes:

My lovely friend gave me the prompt 'making out on the pool floor and pretending its CPR when someone walks in' back in January and I just now finished this. Anyways, hope you enjoy.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

One weekend, Caitlyn had just gotten back from being kidnapped. Learned her mother
had been killed by her kidnapper, who also happened to be Vi's sister, and took up her mother's spot as councilwoman. Even after everything Cait had done for Piltover, a month after everything had gone down they could only afford to give her a single weekend of vacation time.

No matter, Vi was going to make sure Cait had the best weekend ever, just as soon as
she found a hotel that was still operating… and was at least almost as nice as Cait's house.
That was the difficulty with having an extremely rich friend. As much as she wanted to spoil Caitlyn, and Piltover knew she deserved it, it was difficult to find anything for her. But she did think she’d figured out something the other girl would enjoy.

There was a small spa and resort on the edge of Piltover, the edge away from Zaun. The owner had assured her that it was fancy enough that Cait would feel right at home, but not so fancy that Vi would feel uncomfortable. She doubted that she was uncomfortable with linen napkins.

But she would put up with a hell of a lot more than linen napkins for her friend. Which is why she was currently parked outside Cait’s mansion, her motorcycle making a low purring sound and looking completely out of place in the bright green courtyard.

“VI!” Caitlyn called out, waving to her as she walked down the stairs.

“Cupcake,” Vi winked, handing Cait a helmet and helping her climb awkwardly onto the back of the motorcycle.

“Are you going to tell me where we’re going yet or am I just going to have to guess?”

“Hmm, what do you think?”

Cait sighed, “fair enough.”

It took them about thirty minutes to reach their destination. Long enough that Cait was half asleep with her arms wrapped firmly around Vi’s waist. She put the motorcycle in park and climbed off carefully, scooping Cait up in her arms and carrying her easily into the building.

Caitlyn didn’t even open her eyes as they entered the threshold, full of white marble and accents of what looked like gold. Making her question if her partner was even partially awake. She managed to check-in and get their room key without jolting Cait too much. The difficult part came when she had to get them up two flights of stairs and into their room. Still, she somehow managed to get Cait into bed without the other girl so much as stirring.

Just the fact that she could fall asleep that quickly, and that deeply made Vi want to march right back over to the council and demonstrate just how many curse words she could use at once. They’d been working her practically into the ground. Hopefully, she could at least wake up enough to enjoy some of the trip.

In the meantime, she wandered down to the dining hall. The good thing was that it was only a few doors down from their room. The bad thing was that they seemed very into the whole ‘healthy eating' thing. Most of the food was some sort of salad. Cait would like it at least.

She grabbed a plate of something with cranberries and a glass of water and headed right back to the room, uncomfortable with the idea of lingering around the strangely clean areas any longer. When she got back to the room Caitlyn was awake.

“Hello there cupcake, I brought you food.” she set the plate down on the side table and handed Cait the glass.

Cait accepted it and devoured the salad within a few minutes, holding up an admonishing finger when Vi went to comment.

“It’s either going to be crude or not make sense at all, and either way I don’t want to hear it.”

She stood up, brushing imaginary dust off of her skirt took a few slightly unsteady steps toward Vi, before tripping into her arms.

“Whoa there cupcake, are you falling for me already? romantic.” she winked and Cait extricated herself quickly, blushing.

“I saw they had a pool, would you like to go for a swim?” Cait brushed past her and into the bathroom.

“I’d love to.”

Vi could have put on her swimsuit five times over in the time it took Caitlyn to get ready. And when she finally did emerge she was holding the top of a dark blue bikini up using mainly her hands. Which we’re probably covering just as much as the actual item.

“Can you tie my top?” Cait asked, or more complained, flopping onto the bed next to her.

“I can certainly try.” She offered, taking the first set of straps over Cait’s shoulders.

It took her a few tries but she ended up getting all of the strings tied. And, according to Caitlyn, in the right spots.

“Do you seriously do this every time you want to swim?” Vi laughed, pulling Caitlyn off the bed and out the door.

“Yes, and usually it’s not that hard”

“Uhuh, that’s what she said.”

Caitlyn rolled her eyes and punched in the ground level on the elevator buttons. Her bare feet sunk slightly into the decidedly posh carpet. The elevator doors dinged open and they stepped out. Awkwardly hurrying down the hall and into the glass room that held the pool.

Caitlyn ran right into the water of the empty pool but Vi stopped at the stairs, content to sit down and watch.

“Are you coming?”

“Well damn, a bit forward, don't you think cupcake?”

“Oh fuck off you know what I meant.”

Vi laughed. “No, I actually never learned how to swim.”

Cait waded back towards the stairs and Vi’s lip twitched upwards in a smirk. “I do know how to kiss though.”

To her complete surprise instead of rolling her eyes again, Cait sat down on her lap, their hips pressed together.

“Care to demonstrate?”

Vi wrapped her arms around the other girl's waist. Giving her a second to change her mind before crushing their lips together. Shifting smoothly so that Cait was nearly laying down in the water she took about three seconds to wonder how the hell they had ended up here. before Caitlyn slipped her tongue into Vi’s mouth and thoughts were abandoned completely.

Except one, ‘holy motherfucking gods I think I like her’. That may have been obvious considering she was currently engaged in what was slightly more than a platonic makeout session. But Vi had never really had time to figure out her own feelings. She prided herself on usually being able to tell when other people liked her. Her liking them was more of an afterthought.

She liked Caitlyn though. Her thoughts were interrupted as the doors to the pool clattered open, she jumped back, gesturing frantically around for an excuse.

Her eyes landed on the first aid sign by the door, “ uhhh, CPR, she’s fine now though, thanks.”

Vi waved and smiled as she lifted Cait awkwardly out of the water and speed-walked out of the room, only setting her down once they had safely reached the elevator.

“I can walk, you know.”

“True, but then I wouldn’t have nearly as good of an opportunity to show off.”

Cait buried her face in Vi’s neck and groaned.

“Hmm, I wonder how many other sounds you can make?”

“Keep your pants on, idiot.” Cait swatted her admonishingly.

“Never, pants annoy me.” She laughed as she tugged Cait into their room for what would hopefully be lots of uninterrupted ‘CPR’.

Notes:

Now the real question... should I give it a sequel for the smut?
