Work Text:

Jinn didn’t like to take long, “relaxing” baths, and when he did, he wanted to be alone. Whenever that happened the cyborg made sure to do it very late at night, so that no one else would be with him. He shouldn’t have, but couldn’t help being insecure about the way his body looked.

That’s why when he heard the door to the Bath open he stiffened, his arms automatically crossing over his chest which made him slouch.

He faced the intruder. It was Laguna, for Jinn, the worst possible person that could join him in the bath. He turned his head around quickly feeling the blush on his cheeks grow rapidly.

Facing down, he could see the water surface move as Laguna got in and sat right next to him. He peeked with the corner of his eyes, of course the other man looked beautiful.

Even without his makeup his face looked so delicate and soft. Laguna’s body was more on the slim side, yet still well toned. He turned his gaze to the other side feeling his face heat up.

“Why are you here?” he spat out, wanting to sound as mean as possible to throw his friend off, but that only gained him a smirk from Laguna.

“And what could I be doing here? Taking a bath of course.”

“So late at night?”

“I could be asking you the same question.”

It couldn’t have been worse, out of everyone on the ship the one to join had to be a man he had some, unrequired, feelings for.

A tap on his shoulder snapped him back to reality. Laguna was now leaning on his arm against the pool edge.

“Don’t sit like that, your posture is already terrible.”

“I-I can’t.” He felt kind of pathetic, him, a grown man feeling insecure about something so insignificant.

“Why?”

He sighed. “I don’t like the way my body looks.”

That response seemed to genuinely catch the other man off guard. He grabbed Jinn’s arms to pull them to the side, with that uncovering his chest, the green haired man flinched at the touch, it was embarrassing, but still allowed him to do so. He could feel those blue eyes look him up and down, focusing on his abdomen area for a little too long. Jinn's cheeks felt like they were about to explode so he cleared his throat to get Laguna’s attention.

“That did take me by surprise.” He let go of Jinn’s arms and went back to his previous position. “You know, like half of people would kill to have a body like you and the other to date someone with a physique like that.”

“I’m not talking about muscles.” That made Laguna raise an eyebrow at him. “I hate those cracks.” He looked down at his body, even though Laguna wasn’t wrong about his physique, the scars made his body look disgusting.

“Oh.”

He felt a delicate touch on his arm, fingers running along one of the cracks.

“I think they are pretty cool.”

“You’re just saying that.”

“I really am not.” Laguna’s lithe fingers went up his arm and then down once again but along a crack that started at the collarbone and then went down to his ribs. “One would even call them badass.”

Green haired man looked back at Laguna, he didn’t seem to be lying. The water user looked at him with genuine admiration, he could tell that.

Feeling Jinn’s gaze on him, Laguna looked up, staring into his eyes.

“Also not everyone can unattach their own limbs and shoot them.”

Jinn snorted, that skill did come in handy at times. Laguna’s hands left his body as the other man sat now normally looking up at the sky above them.

The green haired man really wanted to sulk at the loss of contact, but instead, just like Laguna, looked up.

They sat in a comfortable silence, just staring at the sky, when one thing came to Jinn’s mind. He turned his head to once again look at Laguna.

“And which half do you belong to?”

It took the water user a few seconds to understand what he meant. Laguna snickered and splashed water over the cyborg’s face.

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” Still, Jinn was able to notice a faint blush on his cheeks.
