ghostboo talks to his friends (oneshots)

Summary:

what it says on the tin.

Notes:

how I imagine/draw c!ranboo is that he’s got like digitigrade legs (like an animal yk) but they’re really impractical. there’s no way this shit would work in the real world. like specifically what’s mentioned in this fic is that they end in points. if you saw anything from g3 littlest pet shops or the cartoon that went along with it it’s like that. no paws. no feet. just fuckin points. so yeah hope that line will make sense now!

Chapter 1: the tommy one (this one’s not sad so I don’t have a lyric for it lmao)

Chapter Text

the sun was about halfway up in its ascent into the sky as tommy and ranboo - what was left of ranboo, anyway - were working on taking down the l’manburg-style walls around tommy’s base, per philza’s suggestion. the way tommy saw it, philza fucking minecraft was always correct, about everything. he had to learn something in all his years in this world, right? so, tommy listened to him. so, he and his dead friend were taking down the concrete and obsidian walls.

ranboo - ghostboo? was it right to call him that? the wound still seemed fresh, and not just the emotional one. tommy could see the multicolored blood leaking out from through the black and white sheet the spirit wore. ghostboo floated - leaned? - back from his work on the wall to stretch his translucent arms. they sighed contentedly and went back to mining away at the walls.

man, I am so glad I don’t have legs anymore,” they said, still focused on the walls. “the ankle pain was killing me. well, not literally, cause sam killed me, but-“

tommy stopped mining the block of obsidian he was chipping away at (a mistake, really. he’d refused the enchanted netherite pickaxe ghostboo had offered him in favor of his trusty, halfway-used-up iron pickaxe. he’d already had to replace it with yet another used iron pickaxe twice and it wasn’t even noon yet. why had he made the walls obsidian again? “are you sure?” ghostboo had asked. “I mean, it’s not like I’ll be using it any time soon.” tommy said no. don’t get him wrong, he loved being the occasional charity case, but it didn’t feel right taking resources from his friend, especially in the condition they were currently in) to turn toward his macabre friend in astonishment, cutting him off.

“you have ankles??” he asked incredulously.

ghostboo turned to look at him, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

“no, tommy, I don’t have ankles.”

tommy’s expression snapped from curiosity to offense in a split second as he spluttered his reply.

“your legs end in fuckin’  points , man, how the fuck was I supposed to know you had-“

tommy stopped himself, squeezed his eyes shut, and sighed as he brought a hand to his face to pinch the bridge of his nose. he shook himself and refocused his gaze on the walls in front of him.

“come on, we need to take these walls down.” he said, restarting the painstakingly long task of breaking a single block of obsidian (seriously, why did he opt for obsidian?)

ghostboo immediately brightened, his translucent tail flicking up and giving a small wag (although it could hardly be described as that because of how spindly it was)

“okay!” he exclaimed, turning to face the walls again. and so the two went on, talking about everything and nothing, cracking jokes and sharing memories as the sun climbed ever higher in the sky.
