Work Text:
Little Nicky was way too young to understand.
Being thrown into an empty, room as punishment by someone else's hands;
How his grandma locked him up for going out of line,
Saying 'if he wanders, he'll never see the light.'
pleading and crying for her warm hands,
His jungle gym phase tainted by a blind hag,
the confusion and torment for what he had done.
Being only five, and already sensing the Boogeyman.
•~~~~•
A child now moving from coast to coast,
forgetting that boogeyman.
Pity his body never forgot, reminding him when it can
when he met a man, he became blind to his body;
Unaware of how deep he got himself in.
Abused and tortured by that mean, mean man,
Should've been schooling not fighting for his life;
Weak kneed and shattered, as he weeped escaping that hellhole.
He was thirteen, and consumed by the Boogeyman.

Years passed, same demon;
He didn't know if he had the courage at all.
The anxiety, flooding inside him;
As the Boogeyman stands tall; he stood small.
What he would give to comfort his past self.
In that dark, cold small room for a bit of warmth.
What became normalcy for him, how would he tell someone dear?
Being thirty-six, and a history with the Boogeyman.
