Chapter Text

~♡~

My name is Daisy Hollow, and I have a secret.

Sure we all have secrets, like the picture frames with two too-young boys scattered throughout my shared apartment.

But mine is different. Especially different from my roommate's, Andrés. And as Daisy Hollow, I'm different from his roommate, Rowan.

Rowan doesn't ask questions about the pictures on the walls.

Daisy Hollow does.

I mean, I need to. How else am I supposed to help find all the missing people, with posters covering so much of buildings that they're more paper until it rains. Faces plastered up and down streets, on poles, on trees, only broken up by the occasional 'hero promotion' posters. See, that's also an issue, the heroes having posters alongside the missing. The missing haven't been found, and the heroes aren't finding them.

They plaster posters to whatever surface isn't showing a missing civilian and cause everyone whose left to associate the missing people with the heroes. It's some psychological manipulation, surely, because the people absolutely love heroes. Very few dislike them- Andrés being one -and the few who don't like them don't change their numbers. Andrés disliking a hero or two with seemingly little reasoning behind it doesn't stop heroes from having supporters, especially public heroes.

I tell Andrés I'm leaving for a month; visiting my uncle in Wintercearig. It's the most believable of the excuses I came up with, truthfully. How Andrés hasn't questioned why I'm suddenly going to visit Wintercearig is beyond me. Daisy Hollow does exist, and they aren't in Wintercearig. They're inside of Andrés' and Rowan's apartment, hoping and praying that Andrés doesn't happen to catch a glimpse of them racing outside and into the night.
