I hope I can find it here. Aten has been looking for ages to try to find a shop that sells the type of coffee he’s looking for. There’s a special blend of coffee he once had on a trip in Mexico. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances happened, and he had to leave before he got the name of the merchant, or the specifics on the coffee. This was years ago and he’s been hooked on coffee since. Not just any coffee though, this coffee. The best cup of coffee he’s ever had in his long life.
He hopes that his search for the best cup of Joe ends soon.
Aten walks into an old, run down shop. On the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but the inside is…quite home-y. The walls are decorated with ancient Aztec looking paintings. The smell of coffee wafts through the air. It smells…familiar.
A familiar man with copper skin and a long white beard is behind the counter. “What can I get for you?”
“One coffee please, black.” Aten pays for his coffee and takes a seat at a nearby table.
In a couple of minutes, the man comes out with two mugs of coffee. “Mind if I join? It’s slow today.”
Aten nods, “Go ahead.” He takes a sip of the coffee and immediately smiles. This is it. “Ah, it’s good. Very good.”
The man smiles, beaming, “My coffee is the best kept secret here. Along with my tail.”
“Your…tail?” He looks at the man, surprised. He remembers rescuing a man named Quetzalcoatl with a tail during a hurricane a long time ago. “It’s good to see that you’re well.”
“I never did get to thank you for saving me.”
“Think nothing of it,” he waves his hand. “It was a hurricane, I wasn’t just going to leave you for dead. I’ve actually been searching for your coffee for a long time. It’s the best I’ve had.”
Quetzalcoatl laughs, “It’s that addicting, huh? Good. That means I’ll be seeing you again.”
Aten smiles, “You can count on it.”
