Chapter Text
"Joe!" Nile said when she heard a giggle behind her. "Pay attention."
Nile briefed the others about her plan to deal with a weapon smuggler.
Joe apologized. He hadn't been paying much attention at all. Nicky had gotten new jeans, and this was the day he chose to wear them.
Andy moved and sat down between Joe and Nicky, who both rolled their eyes. It earned them a slap from Andy on each of their napes.
"Nicky, you and Andy," Nile said when she pointed at a building in a photo. "Climb up on this roof, where Nicky will cover us on the ground when we enter the warehouse. Andy will act as your protecting Nicky. I need you to be seen this time to draw away as many men from the warehouse as possible."
Joe looked at Nile.
"With all kinds of respect for you and your axe, Andy," Joe said. "But wouldn't it be better if I also go with them?"
"Not this time," Nile replied. "I need you to cover Booker inside the warehouse while he places the explosive."
Joe looked over at Booker with an angry look. Everyone knew that Joe still hadn't forgiven Booker after 151 years.
"And before you protest, Yusuf," Nile said. "This isn't up for debate, so put aside your feelings because this isn't about you but the people who live in fear."
Reluctantly Joe agreed to the plan and got ready to do his part of the mission.
