Summary:

(1x05 of my 13GSD reboot/sequel) The gang travel to Time Slime's 'Dimension Of Time' to try to capture him in the chest. However, while they are there, Time Slime traps Vincent in a time loop of his past for all of eternity, and now he has to find his way back to the gang. (Based on It's A Wonderful Scoob)

Notes:

Notes: The 5th episode of my "13 Ghosts Of Scooby Doo In 2021" series is finally on here! This one is going to be more focused on Vincent Van Ghoul and what happened in his life since I have hinted at it a few times before. However, this one will not have a "bad future" scene even though the actual Time Slime episode did, due to Vincent's past being the main focus this time.

Also, this episode takes place at some point in July 2021, so about a month before my 3rd episode.

Lastly, this story is inspired by Rose_of_Pollux's "What's Past Is Prologue."

Chapter 1: Dimension Of Time

Chapter Text

It was just like any other day. The whole gang had been called to sit down at the round table in the castle.

They did as they were told, showing up one by one, waiting for Vincent to arrive.

A moment later, he finally arrived, and sat at the head of the table. He put away his crystal ball into his cape, and started to speak as everyone turned their attention over to him.

"Asamad and I have finally found where the next ghost, Time Slime, is located," he announced. "He is not in his lair, but rather, the Dimension of Time. Which seems to be a dimension that he created to trap not just mortals, but also immortals, in their own time loops for all of eternity."

"Time loops?" Velma repeated.

"Yes, of their worst memories to be exact," he replied. "Which is why we must be very careful when we get there."

Shaggy gulped in fear.

"So like, how long has he even been there?" he asked, reluctantly.

"I am sure that it has been a few months now since he created it and remained there," Vincent told him.

Daphne looked away in utter silence.

"Well, we all have at least one bad memory," she sighed. "But if Time Slime is really able to put us in time loops to make us relive our worst memories, at least.. you know.. we'll be able to find our way back to each other."

"Yeah, you're right," Velma said, smiling at her.

Daphne returned the smile, and her attention went back to Vincent, who started speaking again.

"When we arrive there, it is important for all of us to stay close together now, since from what I've seen of it so far, it is very much an immense place."

Everyone else nodded in agreement.

"I would suggest that we take the plane to Time Slime's dimension, as it will be easier for him to get to us faster if we just teleport or drive the van," Vincent continued.

"Okay but, none of us really know how long it will take to get there," Cheryl noted.

"Rhat's true," Scooby agreed.

"A few hours at most. It is not too far away from where we currently are. In fact, we should probably leave now."

The gang departed from the table, except for Vincent, who couldn't help but think about what would happen if Time Slime sent him back into his past. Or even worse, if he would dare to send any of the others into time loops of their pasts, permanently.

From the days of when he was younger and had to capture the 13 ghosts after accidentally setting them free, Vincent knew Time Slime was definitely not a force to be reckoned with at all. But, the issue with the ghost trapping people in their pasts was definitely something he did not know about before this week.

Even Vincent found himself having a hard time comprehending all of that at once.

He sat there for a few moments thinking about it, until finally, he had heard both Flim Flam and Jayden call his name.

"Yes?" he answered, now pushing his thoughts aside as he stood up.

"Are you joining us or are you staying here?" Flim Flam asked.

"Of course I am going to join all of you. I apologize, I must've gotten lost in my thoughts for some reason."

"Oh no that's okay, don't worry about it," Jayden told him.

Both of them left the room, and Vincent followed them out, now entering the Mystery Flying Machine with the others.

            ————————————-

After hours of flying the plane, the gang finally crossed over into the portal of Time Slime's dimension.

As soon as they crossed the portal, their view went from bright to dark in an instant, and the air around them suddenly felt cold.

"Wow, this looks very… unpleasant," Daphne said as she looked at the view outside from the pilot seat.

"Yes well, I am sure that what all nine of us are seeing right now is the physical representation of mortal and immortal beings trapped within time loops of their pasts forever. So, it is very fitting, actually, that none of this is what anyone would call 'pleasant,'" Asamad commented.

"I suppose that would mean we can't actually see the time loops that people are stuck in, right?"

"For right now, it seems that way," he told her.

Meanwhile, Flim Flam pulled out the Specter Detector to see if any other ghosts were nearby. Yet, nothing else got picked up on it.

"Good news, there are no other ghosts here in this dimension besides, of course, Time Slime and Asamad at the moment," he announced.

"That's perfect then. We will have more time to search for and capture the ghost in the Chest Of Demons, and hopefully, free anyone that has been taken to this place and was trapped in their own past," Velma said.

"I don't really see anyone else here so far," Shaggy observed from the co-pilot seat.

"Re neither," Scooby added.

"They're probably way deeper in this dimension than we currently are," Cheryl replied.

The Mystery Flying Machine eventually landed, with everyone getting out, sticking close together as they walked further and further into the dimension.
