Cooking w/ Bill & Tommy

Summary:

Basically Tommy sucks at cooking. It’s ok, Bills here to help.

(Also I started this when Ranboo was still in Florida)

Work Text:

Bill sat down on the counter, patiently waiting for Tommy’s meal.

“Don’t worry, it’s almost done!” Tommy called out.

Bill laughed, “Cant wait.”

Bill had recently moved into Tommy’s apartment, part of the scheme a couple of their friends had to get as many people as possible to live there.

As part of the living arrangements, everyone had to cook 1-2 days a week, depending on their skill level. The chart goes

Rue-Monday

Ash-Tuesday

Bill-Wednesday

Ranboo-Thursday

Bill-Friday

Tommy-Saturday

Ash-Sunday

But because Ranboo was off in Florida for misfits, Rue was in charge of Thursday this week.

This was the first time Tommy would get to cook for everyone, and he was practically shaking in excitement! Rue and Ash were out at the moment, so it was only Bill and Tommy.

Tommy was making Billzo taste test the fish and broccoli, since it was the first time he made them and, according to Tom, ‘Bills tongue was sparable incase of disaster’

That ended with a wooden spoon getting (playfully) thrown at him.

Soon enough Toms food was ready and Bill waited nervously for the plate.

“Hey, what did I say about sitting on the counter?” He scolded the ravenette as he placed the plate down.

“Sorry, sorry” Billzo scoffed with pretend sarcasm, hopping off the counter and sliding onto a stool.

Bill brought the fork up to his mouth and took a very large mouthful. He tried his hardest not to gag as he fully registered the bland taste.

“Wow, amazing!”

“What, my food?”

Now, Bill was gonna reply with something super witty and clever like, ‘No, my patience for your cooking’ and leave it at that, but one look into those hopeful beautiful eyes, and he mentally yelled himself for even thinking of doing anything to break down that wondrous look on his face.

“Uhhhh, yeah! But uh, what seasonings did you put on it?” He said this carefully with a shy smile, trying hard not to hurt Tommy’s feelings.

“I just put a bit of salt on it, that’s all!” A proud grin plastered itself on the blonds face, clearly happy with Bill's answer.

‘Yeah, I can tell,’ He thought. “Maybe next time you should add a couple more things! We have a spice rack full of stuff you could use.”

Tommy’s smile faltered. “What? Is it really that bad?” Distress was clear in his voice.

He grabbed Billzos fork and grimaced at the flavor.

He choked it down before shyly asking Bill for help.

“Um, fair warning, I’m not really that good at cooking.” He mumbled.

“Please, there’s no way you can be as bad as me! Plus, I’ve tried your cooking, it’s delicious!” Tommy bashed.

Tommy checked the clock in the corner as frowned.

“ Rue and Ash are coming back soon though, I don’t think we have time for a new meal.” He commented.

“That’s fine! We’ll just make a sauce or something!” He stood up from his stool and walked over to the fridge, grabbing some ingredients. “Help me out and get some bowls, would you?”

A half an hour later Rue and Ash arrived at the door, both with multiple grocery bags in their hands.

“Sorry we took so long, we couldn’t find everything so we had to go to multiple stores.”

Tommy simply brushed it off with a shrug. “It’s fine. There’s some food on the counter if you want some by the way.”

On the counter we’re two beautifully varnished plates stocked with cooked asparagus, Kraft mac and cheese, and fish with some yellow sauce and cilantro on top of it.

“Damn! Who made that?” Ash commented.

“Tom did! It’s really good too! He should cook more, if I’m being honest.” Bill praised the older as said boy lightly blushed at the compliment.

“I-I mean Bill helped too.” Tommy muttered, hand reaching to scratch his head.

“Yeah, but all I did was boss you around and tell you what to do! You did most of the work anyway.”

“Don't downplay your achievements! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have known where to start, and we would have ended up with a bland meal!”

“A bland meal isn’t the end of the world! Besides, it wasn’t that bad! You did a decent job for the first time!”

“Bill, you and I both know it was terrible.”

“Okay maybe it was, but still.”

“Ok, ok! We get it! Tom's cooking sucks! Can you guys stop yelling now?”

Notes:

Let me know if you like it, and if I should add more to this AU!

Also, I’m planning on updating the next chapter to Stuck later this month, but it’ll be soon, promise :)
