Chapter 1: Early Days

Chapter Text

Gojo dies. He dies surrounded by empty nothingness, surrounded by a curse. All through his life, he is sure that he would become a curse after death.

He thought wrong.

He is only human, after all, and humans are the universe’s favourite play-things.

………………….

Gojo wakes up. His face is warmed by the bright sun and he can feel damp grass on his back. For some reason, he cannot move.

He opens his dull blue eyes to try to see the sun.

Instead, he is greeted by a woman’s face. Her long, black hair is dangling down and tickling his nose. She gasps and calls over 2 other women.

One has black hair with blonde in the fringe, the other has black hair tied in a ponytail.

“You’ve been asleep for some time,” ponytail girl announced.

“Uzai!” The one who was dangling over him called out, “can we keep him?”

A man looked over and stared at Gojo’s unmoving frame. “Why?” He made a face of disgust.

One of the women slapped him.

The one who he had awoken to helped him sit up and leaned him against her. If Gojo was currently in his right mind, he would’ve made some kind of inappropriate joke.

“Dont worry, child,” she began soothingly, “the demon’s paralysis poison should wear off soon.”

‘Ah so it’s poison that is stopping me from moving,’ he thought ruefully.

“Why would you want to keep him?” The man asked the women, “he cant even dodge poison!”

‘Oh,’ Gojo observed the man, ‘he has white hair too.’

“Because we want a child!” Theone with long black hair argued, “and this one’s parents were just eaten.”

The one with blonde in her hair spoke next, “besides,” she pointed to Gojo’s white haur then to the other man’s, “his hair matches yours!”

The guy grumbled. The women all waited, ready to argue their point. He sighed, “fine.”

The 3 women all jumped and cried out in joy. The man discreetly smiled.

“Im sorry about what happened to your parents,” one of the women hugged him, “but now you have new ones!”

Gojo tried to speak, “what happened to my parents?” It came out croakier than his normal tone and was higher pitched.

They all froze. “You remember them, right?” The one hugging him said.

He shook his head slowly, “no.” He remembered what they said earlier, “what’s a demon?”

The man with white hair spoke up next, “a demon is a creature that ate your parents while you stood by and watched.” He crept closer to Gojo, “do you not remember?”

He shook his head.

The woman with the ponytail knelt down in front of him, “they were your parents, but we can be if you will let us?”

Gojo pondered this offer. His parents were dead, so he needed to go somewhere, but he didn’t know who these guys are! Why should he say yes?

He turned to look behind him. There lay the mutilated bodies of people he assumed were his parents.

He wasn’t disgusted. The dream he had awoken from was worse.

“What are your names?” He asked them.

The man chuckled, “I am Uzai Tengen! These 3 are my wives.” He explained.

‘Too many,’ Gojo thought.

The blonde one spoke next, “I’m Makio, this is Suma and Hinatsuru.” She pointed to each one in turn.

Gojo thought about her earlier question, “yes.” They looked at him in confusion, “yes i would like to stay with you.”

They all jumped in glee once more. One helped him stand up. Hi legs were a bit wobbly from laying and sitting for so long.

They all headed back to the house.

“What is your name, child?” Uzai asked, it would take a while for Gojo to think of him as ‘dad’.

“Gojo Satoru, sir.”

“And how old are you?” Uzai asked once more.

Gojo made a rough guess based on his height. “Um,” he thought for a moment, “7.”

“Your really short for a 7-year old!” Suma said, ruffling his hair.

“Yeah,” he had a mischievous grin, “one day I’m gonna be really tall!”

They laughed.

For once in his life, Gojo felt secure.
