Mafuyu woken up but it was immediately interrupted by a pair of arms around her waist, pulling her back down to the futon.
Then Mafuyu realized that she had already graduated in highschool and college, she works in a hospital as nurse like she wanted to, a stable income and goes to the therapist once a week.
She looks down to see Ena who had her arms wrapped around Mafuyu waist.
She doesn't hate it when Ena does this every morning, it always snap her to reality everytime after all so it was helpful. Mafuyu sighs and carefully unwrapped the pair of arms, Ena grumbles under her breath and simply scoot close to Mizuki while still asleep.
Mafuyu goes to the kitchen and found her.
The female was wearing a sleeveless black shirt paired with a bluish white shorts, white bandages around the shoulders, Mafuyu knows what the female hides underneath those bandages.
She opens her mouth and called out without herself realizing it.
“... Kanade.” She calls softly as if not to startle the smaller female, she had called her in a very soft and gentle manner two days ago and did it everytime after that, even Mafuyu herself was still surprised of how she calls Kanade's name.
The female turned around with a mug of coffee in her hands, dark shades under her eyes and had a face of absolute tiredness yet somehow... that doesn't make Kanade any less beautiful.
“Ah, good morning, Mafuyu,” Kanade greeted in a small naturally, beautiful low voice that Mafuyu could clearly hear it in her ears.
Mafuyu likes the way Kanade says her name, she doesn't know the reason yet but still fond of it throughout the years Kanade had known her name.
Before Mafuyu realized it, she was already walking towards Kanade and paused once the two were at arm-length.
Kanade gives a small smile and a nod then took a sip of the mug of coffee, blues darting on the white counter where a paper along with a pen was laid. A score sheet to be exact, Kanade put the mug down to the counter and held the pen and started to scribble the dynamics as the notes were already written.
Forte, decrescendo, pianississimo, and so on...
She knows that Kanade had now forgotten that Mafuyu was right beside her, Kanade was focused on the work as she took another sip and placed it back on the counter. A familiar hint of determination in those blues could always be seen everytime Kanade works on a song that makes Mafuyu feel saved bit by bit through the years.
There was also a thing about Kanade that Mafuyu always feels. Everytime she met the blue eyes that seems deeper than the sky along with her small blooming smile across her lips, Mafuyu freezes up and couldn't take her eyes of such a sight. Her sense of taste that came back two years ago, they visited an ice cream store, the ice cream was just a usual sweet taste although when she hears Kanade laughed lightly, that ice cream became sweet that it is.
There was also time when Mafuyu had accidentally broke down in front of Kanade when Kanade unexpectedly came to the sekai, the day she accidentally dumped her problems to Kanade. Kanade doesn't say anything and simply took it all, Kanade silently listening as she carefully patted Mafuyu's back. Kanade doesn't ask or question anything after Mafuyu have calmed down and continued the pats, she stayed there beside Mafuyu until Mafuyu had fallen asleep after crying so much. When she woke up, Kanade's navy blue tracksuit was over her while Kanade was still patting the back of hers as she scribbles something on the paper close aside. Mafuyu felt heat rising up to her cheeks, Kanade had probably knew that Mafuyu have woken up so she kept working.
Mafuyu slowly came out of her thoughts, Kanade was still focused and the mug of coffee was already empty. She sighs and slowly went to the smaller female's back, enfolding Kanade's waist with her arms and laid her chin on her shoulder.
Kanade didn't flinched, though she paused and placed the pen down.
“Is there something wrong, Mafuyu?”
Mafuyu nods, “Are you not going to sleep, Kanade?” By that question, the smaller female's breath hitches. Kanade didn't respond, Mafuyu sighs and dragged Kanade without letting go.
Kanade didn't dare to oppose the action, letting Mafuyu dragged her. Mafuyu went to her own room and laid Kanade's back on the bed while Mafuyu laid on her side, arms still wrapped around Kanade's waist, “Mafuyu, you can let go now and go so I can sleep in my room.”
She stared at her and shook her head, “I absolutely cannot let you go so you're going to sleep here with me.”
Kanade met her gaze, she freezes briefly.
“If you want me then alright.”
So selfless, Mafuyu thinks. Kanade was the most selfless person Mafuyu had ever met.
Mafuyu buried her face on the crook of Kanade's neck, receiving an addicting soft laugh from Kanade. She scoots closer.
“After sleeping, can I go back to work, Mafuyu?” Kanade questions, Mafuyu doesn't respond for a while.
So small, so fragile. She thinks.
“Let's take a walk outside first before you back to work after sleeping.”
Kanade drew another laugh, “Am I some kind of a dog that needs to be walked outside?”
Mafuyu scoffed, a smile blooming across her lips, “You need to go outside often,” She says before pressing her lips against Kanade's neck.
Kanade faintly grumbled but nods anyway. Moments passed, chest rising and falling in a normal pace meaning that Kanade had fallen asleep.
Mafuyu admired the endearing view, the relaxed expression of Kanade was adorable.
As she kept staring, she soon fall into sleep. Keeping the smaller female inside her arms, Mafuyu felt warm as she sleeps.
Extra:
Ena and Mizuki cannot find the other two members until they entered Mafuyu's room, Ena almost screamed at Mafuyu for cuddling to Kanade.
Mafuyu had always done this and Ena hadn't got the chance to cuddle with Kanade. Mizuki calms her down and got some more blankets, taking Ena's hand and lead her to bed where the two were sleeping.
Mafuyu's bed was large so all four of them fit just right, as the two laid down on the bed, Mizuki secretly took a picture of the two before laying beside Ena who had fallen asleep after scrolling on social media for an hour.
Mizuki smiles at their partner and cuddled with Ena who also cuddled them back.
The four slept peacefully.
