Notes:

Sorry for the not corrected version - I know I'm particularry bad with conjugaison of verbs - but I'm a little nervous by the medical operation I'll go today. Hoppefully I will be able to return on this after some days.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Jetiise were formidable warriors and it was an honnor to subdue one. So when one has been captured alive and in relative good health, many would have want to be credited for it.

But the squad having him were embarrassed to tell they got him because he faints.

Not the "Lady of the Republic faint", more the "exhaust body shuting down faint".

In fact the medics were horrified by his state. This campaign hasn't going on for long, how can he be in a so bad shape ? Was he comming strait from another ? He had to just get out of a stranding without nutrition or a capture by Sith. Didn't the Republic know about basic health care ?

They keep him sedated with an IV the time to get him out of too light weight and give him some rest without stress.

He was slightly better when they authorize his transfer to the integration barrack. Still it got more time in infirmery before he could join a beginner course. Too much time for a being who didn't have to be beaten into capture.

They had a very recalcitrant besalisk who suffered multiple fractures and had need surgery and bacta. He had bounce back much more rapidly and was looking more lively - even with three of his arms still in braces.

After too few weeks, they had to pull the jetii off the program. He was too exhausted still, falling asleep in classes, on his homework, mislearning the lessons... Talking and even chewing seem too much some times. His body has pass his limit too longer and it seems it will need a long time to recover.

Neither could they have any true evaluation on his integration state, given he didn't seem even capable of really grasping the reality of his situation, much less taking a decision about his responsive behavior or trying to gather intel for a futile escape attempt.

Working on datapad tire the eyes and then the brain, so it was completely sidelined for now. To supplemant, the life assistants tell him some of the historical and societal stuff as stories when they were caring for him.

This new form of integration gathered the interest of many people in charge - or not - of the program. Most of the people in there were captured because of their mandokar, either in batterfield or conquiered territory, and forced to learn what makes a Mando'ad with a coerced but gentle approch - if they didn't resist too much. If they were in bad shape, they were patched up. Mando'ade didnt mess about medical care.

But it was the first time they got someone on such a total exhaust state. If he hadn't be a jetii, he would had been ignored, left to die or rescuing - the capturing team was on fast stealth - if possible - return with intelligence, not in capture or eliminate mode. But a jetii was a hard prize to ignore.

And given the state of this one made him improper for a classical integration - nobody want to hear baddly learned Mando'a - it was an occasion to be creative.

Anyway, jetiise were rarely succesfull in integration. The youngs had better rate but they were well protected and so difficult to catch. And many had as weird outburst or inburst as the adults.

Now, with they're current resident, they decided to go full ambient immersion. They let him have many naps during the day, but run low and calm music or audio programme with a lot of speaking in mando'a.

For the mandatory meals and gentle streatchings, they have his minders tell him stories about historic and cultural from Mandalore, in a mix of basic and mando'a. Anybody interacting with him try to present more or less naturally some new piece of vocabulary, without insisting on the learning. Repetition and ambient noise, that is the idea.

And it seems to work. At least the jetii now tell the yes-no and other basic vocabulary in mando'a, even - especially - when he's half asleep.

Congrats on this new method !

Except some tell that one can't know the real success before the jetii recover enough to begin to make decisions. A better integration of history and language, with positives touch from medical minders doesn't necessary play full on the "you're a mando'ad now" lesson.

This new integration is still in question. Only the future will tell if it bear a child of Mandalore.

Notes:

For now I don't really have much plans except a POV of Obi on the situation. Do you have some mando'ade you would want interacting with him ? Sould I go on romance with flirting or completly oblivious Obi ? With whom ? Or a complet nerd friend-bonding with Jaster ?
