Chapter Text
As the queen and her bodyguard were running after each other, in a grassy field. The spring sun shined brightly on the queen and her bodyguard as there was a calm breeze to accompany the day.
The breeze made the queen steps like feathers as she kept running, looking back with a smile at her bodyguard. Then her bodyguard met eyes with the queen's and smiled back, also running after her queen.
Laughter erupted from both women as they fell onto the soft ground, landing next to each other. Just looking at each other with loving eyes.
“Your Majesty should we head back?” Eula stood up and looked at her queen.
“Eula, drop the formalities besides, it's only us two.”
Amber's eye glanced up at Eula to see her smiling at then she lifted herself up. Taking one of Eula's hands, starting to sprint in a direction. Away from her castle.
“Does this answer your question.” Amber teased.
"Well I guess so” Eula chuckled.
Eula kept running with Amber, she didn't know where they were going but, she trusted Amber to lead the way. Eula turned her head to see Amber so focused, it was as if she knew where to go.
The two women slowed their run to a walk when Amber found the elm tree. Eula lifted her head high to look at the tree in wonder and, she turned to Amber in confusion as how she knew to find this tree.
“Amber, how?” Was all she could ask.
Eula's hands felt cold when Amber let go of her hands, as she walked to the tree. Amber felt Eula's eyes on her as she walked towards the tree. She put a hand on the tree and turned to her bodyguard, meeting eyes.
“My grandfather planted this tree and he took me here. But that was long ago.” Amber replied.
“Now I get to show it to you.”
Eula walked towards Amber and hugged her. Amber hugged Eula back with no hesitation.
“Thank you.” Eula said.
The hugged they shared under the tree was comforting, as if the both of them were covered in a fluffy blanket.
“We should head back” Eula said as she let go of their hug.
Amber took Eula's hand in hers for one last time today. Then she gave it a kiss.
“My queen” Amber said then looking Eula straight in the eyes. She winked.
“My most loyal bodyguard” Eula said in response. Smiling back at Amber.
They walked back together hand in hand, until they reached the city walls. Then they became the queen and her most loyal bodyguard, once more. Amber and Eula walked the streets side by side, with Eula keeping an eye out for anything strange and Amber greeting her people.
As they neared the castle more guards joined to look for anything suspicious and they found something. Well someone.
