“How many already?” Tonbokiri sighs, watching Nihongou come back with yet another sake bottle in his hands.
He sits back down on the seat cushion, setting the drink down on the lacquered round table. “I lost count,” he shrugs. At the same time, Otegine arrives with plates of dango and taiyaki.
“Sorry I took so long,” he laughs, sitting down.
Nihongou nods as a thanks for the snacks and begins pouring, and although Tonbo chides them for drinking too much, he also helps himself. It doesn’t take long for their faces to get flush, and Otegine leans on Tonbo’s shoulder. And he sighs, knowing he’ll be the one who has to carry them back to their rooms after the fireworks.
“Nihongou-san,” the master sighs and rubs their temples after greeting him in the morning. “Can you explain why half of the sake on the shelf is gone?”
Shit.
