Mafuyu sighed as she walked home from school. School had been tiring. She’d had to help two other students with their homework, not to mention she had gotten distracted and almost dropped her “perfect” mask. And having to keep up with her mother’s expectations was truly exhausting. She wished she could just stop being a “good girl” and just be herself (whoever that is), the way she is around Kanade and the others.
Kanade…
Mafuyu liked thinking about Kanade. Even before they got together, she had always found it comforting to think about the white-haired girl. It always brought her a sense of peace.
Mafuyu looked around and realized she was near the mall.
She might as well pick up some new clothes…
Mafuyu entered the mall and looked around. She spotted the clothing shop and started to walk towards it, but something caught her eye from the jewelry section. She decided to go check it out.
It was a necklace. A beautiful diamond necklace with a silver chain and a heart-shaped pendant. Mafuyu stared at it for a few seconds.
It reminded her of Kanade.
As soon as Mafuyu thought that, her chest starting feeling warm. It felt like the same warmth she felt when Kanade kissed her for the first time.
Mafuyu smiled unknowingly looking at the necklace, and before she knew it, she was buying it.
When she put on her mask while talking to the employee, it felt a bit easier to smile.

Mafuyu walked towards Kanade’s house and knocked on the door. She didn’t really know why she felt the need to come here to give it to her, but her chest was feeling warm just thinking of seeing Kanade.
Kanade opened the door.
“Oh, hi, Mafuyu. Come in.”
Mafuyu stepped into her house and took off her shoes. She fidgeted with the shopping bag holding her clothes…and the necklace.
“I..had something I wanted to give you.” she said. Why was her face hot?
Kanade turned her head curiously, and Mafuyu took the necklace out of her bag and showed it to her. Kanade’s eyes sparkled as she took it in her hands.
“A necklace? It’s beautiful…Thank you, Mafuyu.” she said, smiling and blushing lightly.
Cute.
Mafuyu looked at her hands to hide her flustered expression. “I…”
Kanade looked at her with a curious expression.
“I got it because…it made me think of you.” she said, blushing. “It made…my chest feel warm, just like you do.”
“Mafuyu…”
Mafuyu took a deep breath. “I…really like thinking about you. It’s comforting, and makes it easier to smile...”
Kanade stared for a second, and then looked at her like she hung every star in the sky, before leaning in and kissing her.
The kiss was short, but it was warm, and gentle. The way Kanade cupped her face made Mafuyu’s heart soar. Mafuyu put her hand on Kanade’s side and melted into her, feeling Kanade smile against her lips.
Kanade pulled back to look at her, still cupping her neck.
“I feel the same way, Mafuyu. Thinking about you makes me feel comforted as well.” she said, holding her hand.
Mafuyu gave Kanade a small but genuine smile.
“Can…I put the necklace on you?” Mafuyu asked.
“Of course.” Kanade gave her the necklace and turned around.
Mafuyu took the necklace and began to put it on Kanade. She planted a tender kiss on her nape, heart fluttering when Kanade let out a squeal. Mafuyu finished putting on the necklace, and Kanade turned around again.
Mafuyu’s eyes went wide.
“How do I look?” she asked.
Kanade looked like an angel. The necklace suited her so well, and she was looking at her with the sweetest expression.
“Beautiful…” Mafuyu whispered.
Kanade giggled and blushed.
“By the way…” Kanade started, looking down and blushing lightly. “Would…you like to stay for a bit? I’d like to talk about our next song.”
“Sure.” Mafuyu said.
“Okay, let’s go to my room. I’ll make some instant noodles for us.” Kanade said.
Mafuyu walked to Kanade’s room, the warmth in her chest pulsating. There was truly nowhere she’d rather be.
