Work Text:

Teeth.

Claws.

Those were the first two things one would see if they looked at Monty. If not his teeth or claws, then his eyes or spikes.

A monster; that’s what Roxy frequently heard him compared to. Whether by frightened parents or rowdy teens, the word monster was the most consistently used. It didn’t matter the context; It could be harsh, or even in a tone of admiration, but Roxy hated the word.

In the she-wolf’s humble opinion, Monty was nowhere near what could be considered a monster. Sure, he had jagged teeth and knife sharp claws, but so did kittens and puppies, and no one called those fluffy fuckers monsters.

Roxy huffed to herself lightly, and shifted in the position she laid in; on a familiar green couch, draped over a familiar lump of sleeping scales. The wolf trailed a paw down Monty’s arm, making him twitch, and gently clasped her hand with his, her thumb brushing affectionately over the back.

She looked over his claws for a moment. They were just painted earlier, by herself, and because of that, sparkled faintly in the dim light of Monty’s room.

They weren’t the claws of someone who was aggressive or mean. They were claws made to pluck strings, carefully carve wooden figurines, and smooth over her back when she was nervous or saddened.

They were careful claws.

Careful claws attached to kind hands, muscular arms, and a big heart.

Roxy looked up to Monty’s sleeping face, peaceful and neutral, his teeth poking past his lips and catching the light of the room.

They were cute teeth.

Cute teeth that made up a handsome smile, and poked out from his soft lips ever so charmingly.

Roxy pressed herself closer still, looping an arm over the male animatronics shoulder as she buried her muzzle in the nape of his neck.

“I love you. You know that, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Just making sure you know.” She mumbled.

Roxy pulled the alligator closer by the hip, almost possessively, and pressed their helms together. Their snouts briefly brushed in their own robotic form of a kiss, and Monty purred lightly, his optics drooping shut once more. His tongue flicked out from his maw for a quick moment, giving a loving lick to Roxy’s forehead.

The canine chuffed in amusement, and snuggled up to Monty’s chest, softly holding his hands in her smaller paws.

“I love you. Teeth and claws and all.”
