Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

It was a night that people won’t forget.

Crowds of armored men rushes through the now-messed-up castle building. Red cloth wrapped tightly on their left upper arm as a sign.

Walls painted red, the air around stinks with smell of blood, those men slaughtered everyone on sight. Their roars filled the halls, leaving the people who got themselves a nice hiding place trembling in fear. They might feel safe on their hiding spot, not knowing that their fates have already been sealed.

The men threw hays around the castle and burned it, setting the enormous building ablaze. The fire can be seen from all over the land, a sign that the empire has fallen.

Among those men, a woman in blue armor stood strong, her hands and armor covered in blood. She has finally reached her goal, her men’s goal. Staring at the burning castle in front of her, she unsheathed her sword and finally got a chance to see the blood flowing through its blade, as she was in hurry to sheath it before.

“I finally did it.. are you proud of me?”

Her words came out as a whisper, words that she only spoke for herself.

Rain started to fall, though not enough to put down the huge fire. The woman still has her eyes fixed on the burning building, it was a sight that will never escape her memories forever.

Her men already scrambles down the forest, on their way to their base camps far away from the city. Some of them greeted the woman on their way out, calling her to come with them, but she refused. She still want to take a good look at the castle, and somehow sort out the feelings inside her.

It was a victory on her side, yet there is something.. something that made her heart clench.

The attack that she and everyone has been preparing for years, is now a success, the huge castle that become their reason of hate and rage, is now gone.

Shaking her head, she sheathed back her bloodied sword, deciding that she will spend the rest of the night wiping the blood off it, and prepare herself for her next fight.

If there is any..

Right, she now has nothing else to fight for.

Does she?
